Torin

DinoMamasaurus · 01/06/2019 23:45

Another vote for Torin! I also know one - lovely kid, great name.

lolabellina · 01/06/2019 23:42

I’m from central Scotland
Definitely Torin then! Smile

hatsnscarf · 01/06/2019 19:41

@sessy19 and @lolabellina I’m from central Scotland Smile

Torin.

lolabellina · 01/06/2019 18:34

I think Torin is lovely if said with certain accents such as Irish, Scottish or Scandi, can't imagine it having the same impact with any accent that doesn't say the 'r' in a strong or pronounced way.
I would be more inclined to go for Rudi if you are outside Scotland or Ireland.

Sessy19 · 01/06/2019 15:40

Both on my list, great taste!! Are you a fellow scandi, OP?
Also have Torben on my list, but OH is not a fan. I’d be struggling to choose just as bad as you, but I got a feeling I’m cooking a girl! 😬

Sophronia · 01/06/2019 09:43

Torin. I do like Rudy too though.

breaker · 31/05/2019 20:11

@hatsnscarf yes I've met a couple. One spelled Torrin and one Torin. Torin is the better by miles 😃 Based south east

user27495824 · 31/05/2019 19:59

Rudy by miles. But with the y. I feel like the i makes a lovely name look chavvy.

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 31/05/2019 19:55

Rudy, but I personally prefer it spelt with a y

elephantmarch · 31/05/2019 19:53

Yes there’s a Torin in my Dds school. He’s gregarious, sporty and charming. Rudi is quite cool but is more open to attack as rude-y or if you’re around people who also wear tweed then ruddy like “the ruddy cheek of it ”

hatsnscarf · 31/05/2019 19:25

Thanks, everyone so far. Looks like Torin is a winner! I hadn’t actually heard of it until fairly recently and never heard it in real life, having taught in Scotland for over 10 years.

Has anyone met a Torin in real life?

Torin is a great name, interesting but not unheard of. Rudi just reminds me of the word rude.

breaker · 31/05/2019 18:43

Torin. Gorgeous name and means Chief which may suit your baby. I know a lovely boy called Torin and he suits his name so well.

Moominfan · 31/05/2019 18:42

I love both op!

Proseccofuelled · 31/05/2019 18:39

Torin although I prefer Torbin

MrscustardPie · 31/05/2019 18:31

Great names, I've got Rudi on my list so that's my fave out of the both Smile

Yogagirl123 · 31/05/2019 18:29

Thor, pronunciation Tor, the Swedish way. I know a lovely Thor!

bridgetreilly · 31/05/2019 18:28

I don't much like either, but Rudi is truly awful.

lucymegan · 31/05/2019 18:25

Rudi

MissHenty · 31/05/2019 18:24

Torin sounds too like Torid to me. Also could be shortened to “Tori”- conservative. Puts me off but might not you

MissHenty · 31/05/2019 18:21

Rudi!!! By a mile. It’s a brilliant name. A couple down our street used it sand we’d never heard of the name. We’re jealous now and wish we’d thought of it first. Definitely a ‘grower’ on people. He gets so many complements on name and has never been teased yet

Canone · 31/05/2019 18:00

Torin

MyNewBearTotoro · 31/05/2019 17:38

I love both but I think I slightly prefer Torin.
