Elara, Alara, Elaria or Zahara

What are people’s thoughts? Elder siblings are Rafael and Sofia. Please just say what you prefer not if you hate one of them! Elara, Alara and Elaria names would probably use Lara as a nickname (but we wanted to use a longer form version for the name register)

previous poster is correct- Ellaria is a somewhat shady Game of Thrones character.

Elara is my favourite.

AmyMaria2 · 31/05/2019 16:23

Just Lara , don't like the others sorry

AlliKaneErikson · 29/05/2019 05:08

My dh wanted to call our first dc Alaris (it was the brand name of the machine I was hooked up to!). Needless to say we didn’t use it but it kind of works as a name.

firawla · 28/05/2019 22:22

Another vote for just Lara - or what about just Zara? Both go nicely with the siblings

greathat · 28/05/2019 15:00

What about Elora?

Clubbercised · 28/05/2019 10:16

Oh I love Elaina! I've never seen that before.

lucymegan · 28/05/2019 10:00

Elara. Love Lara as a nn.
What about Elaina and lainey for a nn?

Fulltimemummy85 · 28/05/2019 09:44

I know an Alara, named after the Sci Fi charactor. Still don't like the name

IHeartArya · 28/05/2019 08:43

I know a couple of Alara’s - nice name.

Like the others also but not keen on Zahara.

RosemaryRemember · 28/05/2019 08:40

Just Lara imo.

But I am in a decluttering stage of life!

Of the longer names I prefer Zahara.

guiltynetter · 28/05/2019 08:36

Elara is lovely.

TatianaLarina · 28/05/2019 08:35

Zahara, though I prefer Zara/Zarah/Zahra

mathanxiety · 28/05/2019 04:32

I much prefer just Lara, but of the names you have listed, I like Zahara.

Astronica · 28/05/2019 02:49

I like Zahara best from your list.

KavvLar · 28/05/2019 00:25

Isn't Elaria one of the sand snakes from Game of thrones?

AlliKaneErikson · 28/05/2019 00:23

I would go with just Lara (well, that’s actually exactly what I did!).!

Clubbercised · 27/05/2019 21:38

I think I'd go with Zahara. I actually like the sound of Elara and Alara, but wonder if she'd have a lifetime of, "no, not Lara, AH-lara, A L A R A". Iyswim.

If Lara on its own was an option, I think that's the nicest option and goes well with Rafael and Sofia. It's a bit "safe" maybe, compared to Elaria etc, but so are Rafael and Sofia tbh.

confusedat30 · 27/05/2019 21:38

Aria (sorry, biased as it's my eldest's name)

aibutohavethisusername · 27/05/2019 20:28

Elara

NannyR · 27/05/2019 19:44

I would just use Lara if that's the name you are going to use day to day. It works as a stand alone name and sounds great with your other children's names. The other names seem to me that they could provoke spelling/pronunciation issues.

DameSylvieKrin · 27/05/2019 19:39

Reminded me of the name Eleri

Peachbubble · 27/05/2019 19:38

Really like Elara

Malyshek · 27/05/2019 19:36

I like Alara (or Alanna).

Zahara is okay though I think I prefer Zahra.

Kanga83 · 27/05/2019 18:55

Non of them go with a Rafael and Sofia. At a push I'd say Alara sounds the best in terms of sounding like a name. If it's Lara you like why not just use that? It's fits nicely with the other names and is timeless, or Clara or Larissa (Lara is the diminutive version of it in Eastern Europe),

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2019 18:53

I like Zahara best, but I like them all
