Sadly in Scotland Daphne’s isn’t a good name (dumpy Daphne and her glamorous sister Maggie)

I love Daphne even if it is a little Enid Blyton. Such an unusual flower name. However I think she'd get Daffy all the time which isn't a very cool derivative

Diana is a very classic name with an interesting back story and associations. Daphne makes me think of Nepal because they sell a lot of Daphne flower paper to tourists there. Both nice. Diana is perhaps better in that it’s linguistically fairly nuetral and it won’t be an issue at all if she moves abroad. All European countries have that name and itswell recognised in othe parts of the world as well.

I love Daphne. I can't quite bring myself to use it as the nickname Daph isn't nice. It's a very marmite name I think but it's lovely.
Diana is very dated and just reminds me of Princess Diana instantly.

I would much prefer to be called Diana. I feel a traditional and strong name like Diana would work for anybody, whereas Daphne is a bit quirky and cute. Both fine and usable though.

I like Diana. Makes everyone think of the princess because we remember hearing of her death but people born after the fact aren't going to care nearly as much.

If you're worried about it though you could call her Dana.

Daphne... Meh, I dunno.
