Audrey (too soon?)
Lena
Jane (boring?)
Nancy (too tragic?)
Adeline
Dorothy

Great lists. I pretty much love the whole lot.

Guerlainista · 28/05/2019 10:43

I like Louisa and Lena from your girls list. Quite classic, classy, smile and lovely names.

Leo and Henry are the only from your boys list that don’t make me wince.

taylorlynn · 28/05/2019 10:41

My favourite girls names from your list are Audrey, Lena & Nancy. I really dislike Louisa, Louise, Ada & Adeline they age quite plain and boring names.

Love Ralph Leo & Robin Smile

Sabato · 28/05/2019 06:42

Ada - lovely
Louisa - pretty, like it a lot
Norah - bit dull
Audrey - pretty but makes me think of preppy Americans
Lena - don’t mind
Jane - nice for a middle name, slightly dull for a first name
Nancy - love this
Adeline - pretty but old fashioned
Dorothy - love this, my chosen girls’ name too!
Jemima - I like it but I do think puddle duck

Leo - like it but there’s loads of them now
Walter - adorable but might raise eyebrows
Henry - fine
Ralph - bit pretentious
Roland - 😬
Robin - very sweet
Peter - ok but a bit boring

Astronica · 28/05/2019 04:10

I love:
Louisa (Louise is dated but Louisa is fresh and elegant)
Audrey
Jane (smart rather than boring to me)
Jemima

Nancy and Dorothy are okay. I find Lena, Ada and Norah bland. Dislike Adeline.

Boys - I like:
Leo
Walter
Henry
Ralph

Clubbercised · 27/05/2019 13:39

I love Audrey, Dorothy, Robin and Peter.

JumpingFrogs · 27/05/2019 13:37

Ada - pretty
Louisa - LOVE, very underused classic
Norah - meh
Audrey - OK, better than Norah
Lena - don't like and has pronunciation ambiguity
Jane - definitely due a revival. Simple and pretty
Nancy - love it
Adeline- not keen
Dorothy - too old ladyish
Jemima - don't hate it but Puddleduck connotations

Leo - OK but overused at the moment
Walter - really hate it, old fashioned and ugly
Henry- love it
Ralph - wet.and wimpy imo, and difficult to pronounce
Roland - wet
Robin - not hugely keen but miles beter than Ralph or Roland
Peter- classic, due for a revival

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/05/2019 08:47

Ada - I've heard it on a few babies recently so it seems very in. Pretty just not really my style. Ada Lovelace is a nice namesake to have

Louisa (does this feel dated because of Louise?) - prerty. Well known but uncommon. Has a Spanish feel to it
Norah (ruined by stockings?) - love it. Retro chic
Audrey (too soon?) - I know a little Audrey bit her name really doesnt suit her. It has a pretty sound
Lena- find it a bit meh
Jane (boring?)- I like it
Nancy (too tragic?) - not a fan
Adeline- Lovely. Nicer than Ada
Dorothy- gorgeous name
Jemima- not a fan

Leo- they are everywhere!
Walter (pretentious?)- love Walt, dislike Walter
Henry- lovely but very popular
Ralph- wiggam
Roland- rat
Robin- I know 3 baby Robin's born since Christmas. It seems on the rise
Peter (dull?) - due a comeback

Cookit · 26/05/2019 19:54

Oh I had about half of these on my lists!! Great taste Grin

Ada - meh
Louisa - LOVE Louisa but hate Louise. For whatever reason they feel like very different names for me.
Norah - like
Audrey - quite like
Lena - meh
Jane - quite like this
Nancy - like Nancy
Adeline - not a fan
Dorothy - hate it
Jemima - LOVE

I’d go for Louisa or Jemima personally

Leo - just feels very faddy because it’s everywhere now
Walter - I wouldn’t want to be called Walter ...
Henry - love
Ralph - love
Roland - nah
Robin - hate this name and never sure why
Peter - I like this

Proseccofuelled · 26/05/2019 19:53

“Stop it” is my favourite comment I almost spat my tea out Grin

Absolutely love Louisa and Jane. I only know one Jane under 10

Love Robin too.

Sophronia · 26/05/2019 19:25

I love Louisa, Peter and Henry, and I like Ada, Jemima, Dorothy, Jane, Lena, Leo, Walter and Robin.

Namastbae · 26/05/2019 19:07

I like Audrey and Walter and actually I'm surprised at how much I like Louisa. She'd be the only one in her class, guarantee. Peter is totally due a come back, love it.

Eustasiavye · 26/05/2019 19:04

Ada - I could see this becoming popular. Similar to Ava.
Louisa- nice and classic.
Norah - I don't like it. Too old fashioned in an ugly way. Norah Batty.
Audrey - could be nice. Sadly depends on the child. Audrey Hepburn was amazing, Audrey Roberts not so much.
Jemima - lovely name.
Nancy - no don't like it.
Adeline - nice. Not common and not boring.
Dorothy - only if you have a dog called Toto.
Jane - a classic and due a come back.
Lena -ok very meh.

Leo - no, doesn't inspire me.
Walter - initially no but it might catch on in the same way that Archie and Arthur have.
Henry - only use it if you don't mind him being one of several in his class.
Ralph - love this. Pronounce it Rafe though as it should be.
Roland - a make of keyboard or a rat.
Robin - no. I knew an awful one at school.
Peter - nice and classic.

Haworthia · 26/05/2019 19:03

Ada is lovely but everyone is using it right now. Not sure I’d want to be 10th Ada in the class.

Are you mad? Its nowhere near the top ten! It’s still outside the top 100 IIRC.

ProudmummytoMA · 26/05/2019 18:58

Ada - don't like it, makes me think of the pg tips monkey that was in the advert on TV when I was a child in the 80s!
Louisa (does this feel dated because of Louise?) - like this, doesn't feel dated
Norah (ruined by stockings?) - norah batty
Audrey (too soon?) - like this
Lena - lovely
Jane (boring?) - dated and boring
Nancy (too tragic?) - love this
Adeline - don't like it but not sure why, just don't like the sound of it
Dorothy - nice, but can't imagine calling a baby/child this
Jemima - like this one too, but I hear Jemima and think puddleduck

Leo - like but feels very common
Walter (pretentious?) - love it because it was my grandfather's name, but I can't imagine using it for a little person as I see it as an old man's name
Henry - it's OK, nothing special
Ralph - like this
Roland - makes me think of a rat, again showing my age!
Robin - nice
Peter (dull?) - I grew up with lots of Peters in the 80s so feels dated

My favourites are Nancy and Ralph.

MikeUniformMike · 26/05/2019 18:48

I love Jane but dislike Jayne.

Malyshek · 26/05/2019 18:44

Proseccofuelled - would it help to have your husband read/watch the Master and Commander book series/movie ? Hero Jack Aubrey is pretty cool !

Awrite · 26/05/2019 18:36

I really love Jane. Janey as a nickname.

Not keen on the rest.

Don't like any of your boys names.

NeverPutAWetFootInABirkenstock · 26/05/2019 18:34

Forgot the boys!
Forgot the boys!
Leo - like it, I know a lovely one
Walter - can't get on board with this, there are nicer fugly names
Henry - pompous
Ralph - are you going Ralph as in Wreck It, or Rafe as in Spall? I only like the first one, and I like it a lot.
Roland - stop it
Robin - nice for a child, but a bit limp for an adult
Peter - I like it!

NeverPutAWetFootInABirkenstock · 26/05/2019 18:32

Ada - Dowdy in the worst way
Louisa - very nice
Norah - I like it, but prefer it without the h
Audrey - frumpalicious
Lena - don't like
Jane - very dull indeed
Nancy - I like it, cool and unusual but not weird
Adeline - don't like it at all
Dorothy - granny chic and not in a good way

Henry
Ralph
Roland
Robin
Peter (dull?)

Pinkvoid · 26/05/2019 18:19

Ada- I love this so much. If I had another daughter I would strongly consider this name.
Louisa (does this feel dated because of Louise?)- not a fan, does feel dated
Norah (ruined by stockings?)- Norah Batty but also Norah Jones, I’m not keen
Audrey (too soon?) - too grandma but not in a cool way
Lena - Dunham, I like her but not this name
Jane (boring?) - plain Jane, very tedious
Nancy (too tragic?)- Nancy boy, not a fan.
Adeline - pretty
Dorothy - old fashioned but again, not in a cool way
Jemima - love this name

Leo - the lion. Not a fan
Walter (pretentious?) - highly and also old fashioned but not in a cool way
Henry - love this name, a timeless classic
Ralph - nope
Roland - rat!!! No way.
Robin - like it
Peter (dull?)- it is a bit plain.

I’d go with Ada or Jemima for a girl and Henry for a boy.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 26/05/2019 18:15

Ada - like this.
Louisa - pretty, not dated
Norah - really like
Audrey - too old-lady, and not in a good way.
Lena - cool
Jane - dull.
Nancy - don't mind
Adeline - again, don't mind
Dorothy - ok, I really like Dorothea.
Jemima - like this

Leo - like this
Walter - no
Henry - like, but quite common
Ralph - no
Roland - nope, old name man
Robin - a bit wet and weedy.
Peter - don't mind

EngagedAgain · 26/05/2019 17:19

Louisa and Henry would be my choice out of that list.
