One of my absolute favourites I love it so much!

Namastbae · 24/05/2019 18:54

LOVE it. Nelly when a baby.

CloserIAm2Fine · 24/05/2019 18:35

I like it, and I quite like Nellie as well. But they both feel incomplete to me, like they should be short for something.

DramaAlpaca · 24/05/2019 18:29

Nell - really lovely
Nelly/Nellie - awful & inevitable unfortunately, so it would put me off Nell

Lovely

TatianaLarina · 24/05/2019 18:26

Fine as a stand alone name imo - and I’m not someone who likes diminutives as first names.

Much prefer Nell to Helena or Eleanor.

TatianaLarina · 24/05/2019 18:24

Love it. I know a Nell - she’s cool.

LilyandViolet · 24/05/2019 18:17

Also makes me think of ‘death knell’

LilyandViolet · 24/05/2019 18:17

Ok but only if short for Eleanor/Helena/Helen etc

anitagreen · 24/05/2019 18:07

My son is Rànell and he's called Nell for short. Some people can't pronounce his name though we've had ranell like flannel, or RandalConfused it's a french name pronounced Rah Nell

Peachbubble · 24/05/2019 17:57

I like it

DinosaurDress · 24/05/2019 17:54

Love it as a nickname

BackseatKnitter · 24/05/2019 17:52

Love it, but agree that it would be nice to have as a nickname for Eleanor

ryanreynolds · 24/05/2019 17:51

Love it but vetoed by DH.

MaryBoBary · 24/05/2019 17:48

I like it but feel like it should be short for Nella or Nellie

LadyKylieShagworthy · 24/05/2019 17:40

I like it as as a nickname for Helen or Eleanor.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/05/2019 17:40

There was a Bell at my school a few years back, she was a lovely girl, with a lovely name to boot!
