Give me a good red herring to through into the mix

So my mother seems to have this weird idea that her opinion is of the utmost importance when it comes to us naming DC3 Hmm
If we refuse to share any of our potential names she gets a proper cob on, and when we do tell her of names we like she turns her nose up and them and says “eww no.” Hmm
Her opinion on the matter will not make a difference to our choice whatsoever - it will be a “this is the baby, and her name is...” situation, same as it was with DCs 1 & 2.
But someone hit me with a couple of good red herring names I can throw into the mix either to make her clutch her pearls even tighter or give her a sense of security that we are considering a very “normal”, old fashioned name.
It’s honestly as if she expects us to name this baby “Tracey” or something that was common for her generation Hmm

Candida
Eunice
Euphemia
Hephziba
Lettice
Ludmila
Jocasta

These are all names of women I have known, not all British, and all with a great appreciation of their unusual names. (Apart from Candida, poor thing!)

Calypso

My grandfather was the same way, except he was convinced I'd name the baby 'something hippy-dippy like all these millennials do'. I told him the entire pregnancy we were calling the baby Acorn Grin

His actual name is James.

I'd just throw out any Game of Thrones names - Daenerys, Yara, Ned, Jon, Drogon. Enough weird and simple names in there and easy to think of at the drop of a hat.

IntoValhalla Blush sorry!

I don't actually mind it as a name but it does have the association with the film (and only fools and horses) for me. Both are probably old enough now though that you could name a child Damian without many people mentally playing the Omen music in their heads though. It popped into mind as I read a (hopefully not real) thread once by someone who wanted to call their second Lucifer when their first was DamianHmm

Anna or James. No one can hate those.

If it’s outrageous you’re looking for... maybe Scheherazade or Anaximander?
