Could I call a baby Brie, or is it too American and/or too cheesy? 🤔

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DontCallMeShitley · 17/05/2019 01:44

You've Gouda be joking.

NunoGoncalves · 17/05/2019 03:03

Don't worry OP, there are Stiltons of other names to choose from!

aatwi · 17/05/2019 03:07

If you spelled it Bree, yes.

I like it being short for Aubrie.

Topseyt · 17/05/2019 03:13

No. It's a cheese.

I do like brie, but I mean the cheese. To me it isn't a child's name.

Mothership4two · 17/05/2019 03:49

I like Breagha - shorten it to Brea. However you spell it, it's a pretty name!

Elphabaisnotwicked · 17/05/2019 04:18

How about Sabrina?

memaymamo · 17/05/2019 04:50

I know a Gabrielle who goes by Brie. Not fond of Brie on its own, and it does make me think cheese.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 17/05/2019 05:30

Well technically it's a name and a place in France but the cheese association is a bit too strong. It's also not a nice sound.

KatherineJaneway · 17/05/2019 05:56

Inspired by another baby name thread, you could go with Eirb? Grin

HeronLanyon · 17/05/2019 06:20

katherinejaneway deripsni !

Minniemagoo · 17/05/2019 06:25

Well with Brie Larson being popular right now (Captain Marvel) it will probably see a rise in popularity but I think her actual name is Brianne so it's really only a nickname and a cheese.

MadCatLadee · 17/05/2019 07:20

My friend's daughter is Bree which I think is lovely.

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2019 07:24

I never understand things like “it’s fine if you spell it Bree”. You don’t say “My name’s Brie spelled Bree” do you?

NaughtyLittlePassport · 17/05/2019 07:26

Cheese OP. She'll be bullied.

Snog · 17/05/2019 07:35

I knew a Breed

funmummy48 · 17/05/2019 07:37

Sorry but it's a cheese.

TheVanguardSix · 17/05/2019 07:42

How about Lea? Short for Dairylea.

MummyofTw0 · 17/05/2019 07:50

Lol definitely too cheesy 🤣

PlatypusLeague · 17/05/2019 07:58

Cheesy. However an anagram would be Erib, which is a bit like Erin. Or go for Ribe, short for Ribena, or Bire as nickname for Biro.

cheesewitheverything · 17/05/2019 08:02

One of my favourite cheeses Grin

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 17/05/2019 08:04

I know someone who has Gabriella and uses Brie from the middle of the name

ItsGoingTibiaK · 17/05/2019 08:10

You’ll probably find it hard at first, but once she matures...

PenguinsRabbits · 17/05/2019 08:11

I think its fine as long as you make the middle name Exit. Brie Exit has a good ring to it. Smile Goes especially well if your surname has 6 letters starting with an F. Smile

CherryPavlova · 17/05/2019 08:15

The jokes have all been done ☹️

IHeartKingThistle · 17/05/2019 08:24

I like Brienne like in GOT
