There's a little boy in my sons toddler group called Chester. I don't really think anything when I hear it, so although people are saying it's a dogs name etc, I don't think they would actually think that when they hear you calling him it. If you love it, use it!

Hmmm very American where it is popular. Uk far less so. I have only ever known a cat with this name (lovely boy) so I am struggling to think of it as a persons name.

not a lot of people seem to like it but I’ve always loved it, its actually one of my favourite boy names although dh has vetoed if we ever have a boy :(

Dangerous territory if you're in the UK.
'WASP'y surnames (Preston, Carter, McKenzie, Jackson etc) used as first names is a trend which seems to have migrated from the States for both boys and girls.
Most people I know (and indeed a sizeable chunk of Mumsnetters on here too) seem to be split into 2 camps of loving or hating it.

I love it, makes me think of Chester Bennington who has always been my favourite musician despite his untimely death. Hmm decisions. It just sounds right to me.

Honestly, and not wanting to offend, I think its absolutely awful.
Chester drawers springs to mind.
