Baby name advice

My partner and I are expecting our first baby together in early September however, we have chosen to keep the sex as a surprise.

This seemed like a good idea at the time until it came to picking names haha

The babies surname will be Berry and my partner has expressed a love for the name Holly for a girl. I really like the name Holly but I am unsure whether we are being silly calling our child Holly Berry.

I thought I'd post on here for a bit of feedback before deciding one way or the other on it.

Boys names we are still struggling with.

TIA xx

Will Holly go with the other surname? If you were going to use his but it goes better with yours maybe think about doing that.

ReganSomerset · 17/05/2019 20:34

She could be a Marvel character. Like Pepper Potts.

CloserIAm2Fine · 17/05/2019 19:58

No no no no you really shouldn’t!

She will have to live with the jokes until she’s old enough to change her ridiculous name. Names like Holly Berry, Paige Turner, Ben Dover etc are stupid jokes they shouldn’t be real names!

Aquilla · 17/05/2019 19:02

What if Halle Berry goes and becomes a seriel killer or something.

LeMarshmallow · 17/05/2019 18:58

I think it's quite sweet!

dontforgettofloss · 17/05/2019 18:55

Maybe you could have Holly-Anne or something double barrelled to break it up a bit?

SylvanianFrenemies · 17/05/2019 18:22

Another "no", I'm afraid.

How about Hayley? I was going to suggest Halle, forgot about the actress for a sec!

Icklepup · 17/05/2019 18:20

No, definitely not

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2019 08:31

I had a boss called Albert Hall....

Mintandthyme · 16/05/2019 23:21

It’s right up there with Annette Curtain.

pearldeodorant · 16/05/2019 23:13

You definitely can't name her Holly Berry, sorry.

Tillygetsit · 16/05/2019 23:05

Holly Berry would be as bad as Lavender Bush!

MaLittleBubbas · 16/05/2019 21:40

really sorry OP don’t do Holly Berry. Maybe Molly or Polly, which I actually prefer to Holly! x

finallychangedmyusername · 16/05/2019 20:02

I agree with previous posters sorry - Holly Berry doesn't work.

If you really want to include Holly in her name you could include it as a 1st of 2 middle names:

Tabitha Holly Alice Berry
Keziah Holly Anna Berry
Elinor Holly Zara Berry

... as a few suggestions

Proseccofuelled · 16/05/2019 18:13

I like the suggestion of Heidi Berry from someone else - really sweet

happyhillock · 16/05/2019 18:10

No please don't !!

MikeUniformMike · 16/05/2019 18:07

Call her Mary.

mumtobabygilrl · 16/05/2019 16:56

Absolutely no. My name isn't holly but along the same reasons as holly would be terrible if my sir name was Berry. It was something we would joke about when I was younger hoping my future husband didn't have a sir name berrry, bush, tree etc

Don't do it

PlatypusLeague · 16/05/2019 09:47

No to Holly Berry I'm afraid.

Heidi Berry
Lucy Berry
Clara Berry
Alice Berry
Imogen Berry

Daniel Berry
Henry Berry
George Berry
Nathaniel Berry
Matthew Berry

Proseccofuelled · 16/05/2019 09:25

Nothing to do with vowels and rhymes but because it would be Holly Berry just like I would say no to Rose Garden

Proseccofuelled · 16/05/2019 09:23

No really sorry but no

RaffertyFair · 16/05/2019 09:23

I would avoid any first name that ended in 'double consonant' + 'y' or + 'ie'.

So no to Holly, Molly (my name... sob), Jenny, Tammy etc.

It hasn't done Halle Berry any harm having double letter 'ee' sound with the surname Berry MollyHuaCha Grin

pilates · 16/05/2019 09:12

No I wouldn’t

MollyHuaCha · 16/05/2019 09:09

I would avoid any first name that ended in 'double consonant' + 'y' or + 'ie'.

So no to Holly, Molly (my name... sob), Jenny, Tammy etc.

I think a three or four syllable name would work well.

Caroline Berry
Alicia Berry
Tabitha Berry
Camilla Berry
Olivia Berry

BertrandRussell · 16/05/2019 09:06

Oh don’t be silly.
