Hi all,

Just wanted to get everyone’s opinions on the name Rupert??
Even I feel like it’s an old fashioned posh persons name but I just love it. All of my friends and family are not impressed.

Wet. Same type of thing as Hilary and Francis. Chinless.

MarieToulouseBerlioz · 11/05/2019 20:12

Sorry OP I dont like it - it's really posh and if someone round here was called it (NW) theyd get a bit of a roasting throughout school I think

PCohle · 11/05/2019 20:10

rainbowlovesfroot · 11/05/2019 16:16

I live love love love love it

really classic and deposits some people not LIKING It, it’s a really inoffensive name

Pearpickinpenguin · 11/05/2019 16:15

I LOVE it. I heard it a few years ago when a friend of a friends child was given the name and like others, I absolutely loathed it at the time but the more irrationally irritated I became by the name the more I said it and i now absolutely adore the name and If I could have more children and one were a boy I would absolutely use it. It is your child. Do not worry what others thinks. Names grow on people eventually anyway but for me it is a yes straight away!

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2019 16:14

Not for me. It's posh & wet.

diddlediddle · 11/05/2019 16:13

A bit wet tbh

OddBoots · 11/05/2019 16:09

I love it but it is an old family name so that may be why.

Shadow1234 · 11/05/2019 16:05

It's a no from me. Just not to my taste.

Lavenderblues · 11/05/2019 15:58

PlatypusLeague · 11/05/2019 15:57

Not keen, but love Rufus as an alternative.

99bb · 11/05/2019 15:55

I love it! Wanted to use it for my son but couldn’t.

Rupert is really manly to me.

RattyTat · 11/05/2019 15:10

It's terrible

Summerwalk · 11/05/2019 14:44

Just awful. Agree it's a wet name. It's pretentious and just blah

ZsaZsaMc · 11/05/2019 14:44

I like it - and not posh. I also like Arthur, Jude and Wilfred
