So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1ℴ=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Ladywillpower · 28/08/2019 02:59

The South London clue has connections to a reality tv star.

Ladywillpower · 27/08/2019 15:33

Not Caroline.
The north London clue refers to a place/ building.

finallychangedmyusername · 27/08/2019 15:21

Caroline?

Ladywillpower · 27/08/2019 15:06

The royal princess is a real person from the 20C & is not English by birth though she had links to the British throne.

finallychangedmyusername · 27/08/2019 14:26

Requesting another clue please @Ladywillpower!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 24/08/2019 10:49

Ladywillpower · 23/08/2019 08:17

LadyGAgain · 23/08/2019 05:48

The icon and summer bay favourite are female. Blonde.

Ladywillpower · 22/08/2019 23:17

Ellmau · 22/08/2019 23:14

LadyGAgain · 22/08/2019 21:45

Sorry if my comment of easy wasn't the case! But I didn't want to kill the thread. Can add another clue?

LadyGAgain · 18/08/2019 07:52

Thanks @Ladywillpower !

Next one which I fear might be a bit obvious but here goes!!

What name links:
Don’t call me Brian
A firm favourite in Summer Bay and an icon of the 20th Century.

Ladywillpower · 16/08/2019 15:07

Well done Lady G.
Jessica Mitford was one of the Mitford sisters.
Jessica Ennis Hill is the athlete
Jessica Fletcher is the fictional crime writer played by Angela Lansbury in Murder She Wrote.

LadyGAgain · 16/08/2019 14:53

Jessica?

Ladywillpower · 15/08/2019 20:43

Not Gillian
The sister & athlete are real people.
The crime writer is fictional.

finallychangedmyusername · 15/08/2019 20:03

Gillian?

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 13/08/2019 06:38

Oh don't go Cletter!
New clue
I am part of a "sisterhood", an athlete & crime writer.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 12/08/2019 06:53

Yes Ladywillpower!

Now I shall bow out of the thread for fear I might ever get another one right and have to invent another clue...

Ladywillpower · 12/08/2019 06:44

Hermione Norris - actress Spooks / Cold feet
Hermione daughter of king Menelaus in Greek mythology.
Hermione Grainger - Harry Potter books.

Ladywillpower · 12/08/2019 06:30

Hermione?

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 12/08/2019 06:25

Don’t worry - I think it might be that I don’t understand the clue protocol!

I’ll break it down a little...

known for her inquisitive nature and reluctance to commit - this refers to one bearer of the name, an actress, but the attributes (reluctance to commit, inquisitive nature) refer to some of her more famous roles.

this royal daughter - a second owner of the name, a royal daughter but fictional.

has used her intellect to escape many a danger - this is the more obvious one. A third person with this name, a fictional character, very famous.
