So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Well done finally. Over to you!

finallychangedmyusername · 08/07/2020 07:30

Thanks for the clue @Ladywillpower. Lila? Add a consonant to make lilac, change a vowel to make lilo. Smile

Ladywillpower · 08/07/2020 05:49

My name means nocturnal or beauty. Add a consonant & I become a colour. Change a vowel & you can relax on me.

LadyGAgain · 08/07/2020 00:31

Very excited about your new clue when you have a chance @Ladywillpower

finallychangedmyusername · 03/07/2020 09:52

Thanks - I enjoyed putting together those clues. And Jonah is such a gorgeous name (tried to persuade DH to use it for DS2 who would have totally rocked being a Jonah). Grin

Looking forward to the next one...

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 02/07/2020 22:58

Wow!! That was very cryptic - amazing clues and well done. Looking forward to the next clue!

finallychangedmyusername · 02/07/2020 18:44

You got it, Jonah! Grin

"Best associated with sea life / one particular sea-dwelling creature"= Jonah and the whale
"Avian in a couple of ways" are the dove and kiwi - dove: Jonah means dove / kiwi: Jonah Lomu is a famous Kiwi rugby union player

The 90s US West Coast boy who was amongst those having trouble sleeping (film reference) refers to Sleepless in Seattle. Tom Hanks' son in the film is called Jonah.

Nickname, hmm, maybe not = Joe is the nickname and "nah" is the hmm, maybe not. Joe + nah = Jonah

And Jonahs are traditionally thought to bring bad luck.

Grin Here's the baton @Ladywillpower!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 01/07/2020 23:12

Jonah?

finallychangedmyusername · 30/06/2020 09:27

These clues are proving to be bad luck.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 26/06/2020 21:21

It's a biblical name.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 24/06/2020 18:54

The sea-life clue refers to one particular sea-dwelling creature only.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 24/06/2020 15:59

His other avian link is regarding meaning.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 23/06/2020 21:40

Nickname, hmmm actually, maybe not.

Ok, that's possibly the most cryptic clue so far, sorry! Grin I'll try and think of another one.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 23/06/2020 21:15

I am wracking my brains!

finallychangedmyusername · 22/06/2020 21:10

This guy's avian in one way, in terms of nationality.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 21/06/2020 22:14

West Coast is the US West Coast.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 19/06/2020 22:41

The West coast boy was amongst those having trouble sleeping.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 19/06/2020 21:21

It's very hard, I haven't got a clue so far.

finallychangedmyusername · 19/06/2020 19:06

Any guesses? Smile Does anyone want another clue?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 16/06/2020 14:43

The second sentence references a film.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 15/06/2020 17:08

A lucky guess on my part! Grin Here's another:

Whilst best associated with sea life, this guy is more avian, in a couple of ways. He was also a West Coast American boy in the 90s.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 14/06/2020 22:49

Yes, Marianne. Far too easy obviously;)

finallychangedmyusername · 14/06/2020 21:35

Elinor? Marianne?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 14/06/2020 14:23

Sensible but not enough sense.
