A brother for Quinn

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 10:58

We found out yesterday that number 2 is another boy. We already have Quinn (7) and love his name but really struggling to agree on a name for baby 2. So far on the list we have:

Kit (I love, DH not so keen)
Brody (we both like this but last night we made the Homeland connection and are wondering if it makes it unusable)
Gabe
Rudi
Rufus
Torben (DH not keen as he thinks it doesn't go with our surname)
Elias

Help?

We like names that are a little bit different but nothing too out there.
Our surname begins with an 'err' sound and it seems to make name flow quite tricky.

Kit! I know a Kit and a Quinn! Kit is a great little brother name.

Icantreachthepretzels · 03/05/2019 20:15

I love Kit. But if you can't convince DH - what about Glenn? Nature name that nobody ever uses - but isn't out there at all, everyone has heard of it.

Surely nobody thinks sending a red haired child to school called Fox is a good idea?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 03/05/2019 13:41

Bentley I cottoned onto the fox/ Kit connection, DH hasn't :)

It'll be totally random if he's another red head, neither me nor DH have red hair but Q does.

Aww @Dennis I think that's even more of a reason to have a little Fox Blush especially if he's likely to be a red head.
Kit is a baby fox - foxy theme without looking too obvious!

Calixtine · 03/05/2019 11:44

Fox would be adorable for a little red-head though!

Joss? Briar? Corin? Rafe? Dash(iell)? Magnus?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/05/2019 11:00

Brodie

Saul?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 03/05/2019 10:59

DH really likes Fox @Bentley. I'm not so keen simply because I love foxes (I even have a fox tattoo) and it might look a bit fanatical!

I live in Teesside - not exactly conservative but definitely an area where Cosmo would stand out as very different. Fine if they grow up with a strong personality, not so much if they're naturally shy IMO. Kids round here can be brutal.

Rufus is such a strong name and if little one ends up a red head like Q it would suit. I still really like Brody and Kit will be a delivery-suite pitch.

We have really similar taste OP, Quinn and Kit are two of my favourite names. I also love Cosmo and Elias but DH hates them both.

For an R name how about Remy?
If you like Cosmo, you may like Cassius too, which is perhaps slightly less out there.

I have a Rufus! It's a great name (he's 7 and likes it too!). We call him Roo for short. Goes well with Quinn too (we have similar taste - I wanted Kit but then DH wouldn't go for it)

Tillygetsit · 03/05/2019 00:26

I adore Rufus. The dogs name arguement is silly. My parents dogs are Emma and Lawrence!

aibutohavethisusername · 02/05/2019 22:57

I love the name Brody.

Sparklysunflower · 02/05/2019 22:44

I agree. If you like Cosmo, you should use it. Kids are far more accepting of unusual names than we might think. You must live in a very conservative area?! But you might live there forever?

I also like the suggestion on Orson.

TatianaLarina · 02/05/2019 20:29

I really like it as a name but Cosmo would be way out there round here. I imagine in some parts of the country it would sound fine (it's a cool name), but round here I think it would be setting him up for a very hard time at school.

Where do you live that is so conservative?

I think Brody works well with Quinn and Gabriel and Caspian/Caspar.
