A brother for Quinn

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 10:58

We found out yesterday that number 2 is another boy. We already have Quinn (7) and love his name but really struggling to agree on a name for baby 2. So far on the list we have:

Kit (I love, DH not so keen)
Brody (we both like this but last night we made the Homeland connection and are wondering if it makes it unusable)
Gabe
Rudi
Rufus
Torben (DH not keen as he thinks it doesn't go with our surname)
Elias

Help?

We like names that are a little bit different but nothing too out there.
Our surname begins with an 'err' sound and it seems to make name flow quite tricky.

Oh and I love Kit - hopefully your DH comes around during labour!

tdam · 15/05/2019 14:03

Quinn and:

Roman
Bastian
Atlas
Claude
Lucian
Cyrus
Malachi
Silas
Otis
August
Kai
Monty
Hudson
Jem
Franklin
Marlowe
Flynn

Love Quinn but can't say I love Brody or Rufus, although of the two I prefer the latter and think Ru as a nickname is quite cute.

Anyway, good luck!

Blake might be too Quentin Blake...?

taylorlynn · 15/05/2019 10:16

I like Brody another suggestion would be Blake !

tiramisu1 · 15/05/2019 06:48

Of your suggestions I like Kit and Rufus best. Or how about Rex?

sleepycat13 · 07/05/2019 19:26

I have a Quinn and so read this thread with interest as I also love the name Brody but like you wasn't sure whether the homeland connection was too obvious.
what about Brady as an alternative?

thegreylady · 07/05/2019 15:47

Kester with Kit for short
Jackson
Henry
Luca

daisypond · 07/05/2019 15:24

Rufus is the only one I like, but I like Gabriel and Rudolph a lot if you weren’t just going for Gabe and Rudi. Christopher for Kit is also nice but is quite common where I live.

Calixtine · 07/05/2019 14:56

Quinn and Brody are great together and the Homeland thing wouldn’t occur to 90% of people I’m sure.

Sparklysunflower · 07/05/2019 14:44

I doubt many people would make that connection! Don't let that put you off Brody if you love it.

minmooch · 07/05/2019 12:20

The Homeland connection would be lost on most people. Go with what you like

minmooch · 07/05/2019 12:19

How about Ralph?
Rafe?
Raphael?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 07/05/2019 11:20

What's the homeland problem?

Two of the main characters in Homeland were Nick Brody and Peter Quinn, both generally referred to by their surnames.

Likeagibbon · 06/05/2019 21:04

R name= Rico? Roscoe?

sazzle27 · 06/05/2019 11:37

Love the name Brody, also a large part of me is standing in solidarity with your DH wanting an R name!

fudesina · 06/05/2019 11:14

Robin?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 06/05/2019 11:10

I have Lachlan on my list but DH not keen.

I think we're kinda settled on Brody and ignoring any Homeland connotations. I've not given up on Kit though...

Caspar?

Bumblebeesmum · 05/05/2019 11:37

Caspian mentioned up thread is really cool

Widowodiw · 05/05/2019 11:34

We have a Quentin and really struggled to find a name for his sister because his name was different but it not altogether out there. My husband was coming up with very “normal” names but it would have sounded like we just hadn’t put as much effort into her name 😂 . We settled for Victoria as although quite normal it started with a v which is quite unusual- well a little. And I liked it !

Sparklysunflower · 05/05/2019 11:27

Rocco would be nice with Quinn.

Lara53 · 04/05/2019 21:32

Cayden/Cayden
Dylan
Fletcher
Toby

mondler · 04/05/2019 17:04

I think Seth or Zachary would go lovely. If he's set on an r name rafferty, Rowan or Raphael would both go well with Quin.

LittleAndOften · 04/05/2019 16:05

I know a Quinn and Rory Smile
