37 weeks pregnant with baby no3... we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl. All sorted with boys name but can’t decide between Luna or Nancy for a girl... any thoughts?!

I personally prefer Luna but agree with others that Nancy is more ‘timeless’.

PantsyMcPantsface · 07/05/2019 20:19

Nancy was the name of a particularly dense dog we had... but a relative then nicked the name for their child (and tried to get us to change the dog's name) and it suits the kid in question. Both of them are very much ones I don't like personally though.

Luna's going to get loads of "loony" and "lunatic" comments from other kids growing up, and Nancy tends to either get "nan" or "nancy pants" type comments.

Luna!

JenSFP · 07/05/2019 12:31

Nancy is our fave if baby #3 turns out pink so I'm biased. Luna makes me think of the moon and has weird menstruation connections in my head. Don't ask me why ConfusedI wouldn't choose it

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 03/05/2019 07:06

Luna is awful (sorry). I'd go with Nancy. It makes me think of Swallows and Amazons or Dickens.

BikeRunSki · 03/05/2019 07:04

Nancy

Forthepurposesofthetape · 03/05/2019 07:02

Please don't call your child Luna. Please.

CallMeRachel · 03/05/2019 06:57

Nancy by a mile!

Luna is a dogs name, there's loads of dogs round here called Luna.

Aside from that, can you not foresee the name calling 'Looney Luna'?

AnnieDianaLulu · 03/05/2019 06:54

Luna

Happilyacceptingcookies · 03/05/2019 06:46

Nancy definitely.

Don't know what it is about Luna, I should like it but I now know two Lunas and it has become less quirky

Sessy19 · 03/05/2019 06:40

Love both these names!! Couldn’t choose I’m afraid... I completely understand why you find it difficult! Maybe this is one instance where you wait to see what the baby ‘looks’ like when born, if a girl 😊 Congratulations xx

Mollie85 · 03/05/2019 05:44

Combine the two and go for Lucy 😆

Get really confused when people say Nancy is strong and sassy, it just sounds rather wet to my ears .

Luna is a fad I think and may date, but of the two it’s the better IMO.

Good luck and congrats Grin

FlyingMonkeys · 02/05/2019 23:49

I'd personally opt for Nancy. Ddog is 13yrs and a 'Lily'. There's a lot of kids look up at the park when I call for her 😶 - Luna is very popular with pets .

cheercaptain · 02/05/2019 22:51

Nancy

JemSynergy · 02/05/2019 22:49

definitely Nancy.

Bumblebeesmum · 02/05/2019 20:52

I know 2 dogs called Luna I had no idea this was a thing !

Love Nancy

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 02/05/2019 18:53

Luna.

Nancy is a name that I find really ‘harsh’, for want of a better word.

pipsqueakthethird · 02/05/2019 18:12

Luna is pretty faddy at the moment. I'd go for Nancy

Justkeeprollingalong · 02/05/2019 17:04

Nancy

Tavannach · 02/05/2019 16:55

Nancy.

starkid · 02/05/2019 16:53

Nancy! Luna, although lovely, has turned into a bit of a pets name for me!

cockadoodledooooo · 02/05/2019 16:52

Nancy, Luna always makes me think of lunatic sorry.

Antonin · 02/05/2019 16:43

I, too don’t see the fascination with Luna. It even sounds rather awkward. More trad names for the moon are available eg Selena.
I don’t feel Nancy is ready for recycling. They were twoa penny back in the late 50’s to 70’s. Previously a nn for Agnes, apparently. Old form of Agnes was Annis and the Scots etc often use Nan as a nn for Ann — hence Nancy.

TurquoiseAndPurple · 02/05/2019 14:32

Luna ❤️
