I'm sorry for the mammoth list! Confused

These are names that I like, but I don't love any of them quite enough, IYSWIM.

Miranda
Kezia
Lydia
Marguerite
Jessica
Imogen
Genevieve
Juliette
Severine
Jeanne-Marie
Melisande
Rosalind
Florence
Magdalene
Vivienne
Mathilde
Valerie
Vanessa
Veronique
Martha
Abigail
Chantal

If anyone can suggest similar names (not too 'pretty' I.e. not too many initial/ending vowels, fairly strong/classic, with a vague French connection), I would be very grateful... or pick those that you particularly like from my long-list.

Can't use Anna, Sophie, Elisabeth, Marianne, Beatrice, Evelyn, Charlotte, Eleanor... and have already asked MN for specifically French suggestions but most were too 'pretty'!

I don’t love Melisande- reminds me of game of thrones a bit! But quite like Evangeline unless that’s too ‘pretty’ or Angelique/Dominique

sometimesalways · 30/04/2019 13:50

Louise

tdam · 30/04/2019 13:48

How about Céline, Allegra, Zelda, Freya, Tabitha, Giselle, Zola or Aline? These all just came to mind after my previous response.

tdam · 30/04/2019 13:44

Oh, and I also adore Margaux and would use it myself if my partner hadn't vetoed it.

Connieston · 30/04/2019 13:43

Josephine!

tdam · 30/04/2019 13:43

Of the names on your list I adore Mathilde, Melisande and Florence! I say go with one of those Smile I also personally adore Amélie, Clémentine and Elodie but they're perhaps too pretty for your tastes? Camille is lovely too, as is Manon.

katonic · 30/04/2019 12:05

Zelie/Zeylie? Should have an accent on the first e in the first spelling but not sure how to get special characters on my phone!

Nixen · 30/04/2019 11:57

Felicity

Collette?

Harvey3 · 30/04/2019 11:12

Clara

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 30/04/2019 11:06

Or how about Cléo?

Or there's Nicole, which is rather retro (and you will get people of my a certain age saying 'Papa?' to you - just ignore) but rather sweet.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 30/04/2019 11:03

Félice?

I absolutely adore Melisande, and love Miranda too (which is what I would name a very hypothetical dd if I had one today)

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 30/04/2019 11:01

Jeanne is terrific. I quite like Simone and Elise too.

Léonie?
Laure? (I knew a Marie-Laure once)

BlueMerchant · 30/04/2019 10:52

Of all already suggested on here I like your suggestion of Genevieve.

Divgirl2 · 30/04/2019 10:49

Romily is my suggestion.
