Welsh names that are easy to pronounce

I am Scottish, DH is half Welsh and we live in Scotland.
DS has the most Scottish name it's possible to have (through accident rather than design as he's named after people). Not quite Angus Fergus MacDonald but not far off - paint him blue and he'd yell Freedom!

Anyhoo, for DC2 we'd like to incorporate a Welsh name somewhere in honour of DHs mum. Sex currently unknown.
I like Eira for a girl but think it will probably end up being mispronounced up here.
Suggestions please for Welsh names that won't be mangled by my fellow Scots Grin

I think one is Grace and the other is Eve. The trouble with using a name from another language or culture is that you probably heard of it from a tv/film/music/sports personality and it will probably be an adult's name. If you like it, so will others, and although it might seem unusual, your DC will be one of several Theos or Elodies in their age group.
Some names date badly - you can probably guess the age of Kylie, Britney, Whitney etc.

That's good! I remember there was a thread about Irish girls' names where this one name, which I thought was perfectly lovely, was particularly singled out as being terribly outdated, only maiden aunts in their 60s are called that etc. I would never have known but then I'm not Irish, so it's useful to know about the cultural baggage, as it were.

The -wen names are old lady names, but Bronwen (and Branwen) are nice.
The trouble with Bronwen is that people tend to say Bromwyn.
I def. give Bronwen a vote. Bronnie is cute as a nn.

I've always liked Bronwen, although am now prepared for Welsh people to tell me it's considered to be an old lady name there!

I work with an Eirlys in Scotland, people pronounce it fine. It's lovely.

I find even names you'd think would be easy to pronounce are mispronounced outside of Wales e.g Nia said Near or Eleri said ELeri

Osian is Osh-an (as as in can). I know lots of them. Not one of them says it as Oh-shan.

Blodwyn should be spelt Blodwen. Rhia is missing an n.
I'd pronounce Gethyn as Geth-in - in as in the english word, but in Gethin the i is like in the english word big.
I know lots of Gethins but no Gethyns.
It might be a regional variation on the name.

Pembrokeshire born and bred, both speakers.
Sorry I've offended all the name police...! I also happen to know a couple of others who spell it like that.
Personally I dont see what the big deal is

Another vote for Gethin. Also love Rhys.

I’ve liked Enfys since a woman with that name was on Pointless several years ago. Had never heard of it. Also like Seren and Ffion.

Welsh is a very phonetic language so Gethyn = geth-uhn (Gethin is pronounced exactly as it looks). If it's spelt Gethyn and pronounced Gethin I'm going to wage 50p his parents aren't Welsh speakers.

Gethin is a beautiful name, I wish my DP hadn't vetoed it because it's one of my absolute favourites.

Ummmm.. My husband is called Gethyn, so rest assured it can be spelt both ways!
