Does Joe White sound too similar to Snow White? Don't want son to be bullied over name if I call him this. Xx

Sorry, Joe White sounds very similar to Snow White. I wouldn't want to be called this.

AnnieDianaLulu · 29/04/2019 08:11

I really think it's fine. Both names are "ordinary" and I think if you had asked "does anyone notice anything wrong with the name Joe White" people would have had no idea what you were on about.

thisisthetime · 29/04/2019 07:51

I wouldn’t have made the association. I think one syllable names sound good with white. Go for it!

Roo1982 · 29/04/2019 07:48

Joe was after a family member on my side. Xx

I prefer snow white Blush

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/04/2019 07:43

I wouldn't have noticed had you not pointed it out and tbf to myself I.don't usually miss a trick with names. However now I can't unnotice it. How about Joseph nn Seth. Seth White is Gorgeous

Roo1982 · 29/04/2019 07:41

That's a good point actually, I know Joe and Snow rhyme but on hearing the name would you instantly make connection Snow White?

PlatypusLeague · 29/04/2019 07:32

I think it's fine.

Ohyesiam · 29/04/2019 07:19

Well it does, but i don’t think people would make the association very often. And if they did I do t think the consequences would be dire, it’s not like it’s rude or funny.

I have a long Greek surname which apart from the banking is generally shortened so people can say it. with my initial sounds a lot like anal. It occurred to me when I was about 12, but Only one person has ever made that association and sniggered.

Roo1982 · 29/04/2019 07:17

Yeah short for Joseph but we'd be calling him Joe more than likely

Tbh honest I’m a bit disappointed someone isn’t calling their child Snow White.

Pastaagain78 · 29/04/2019 07:12

Sorry. It does.

Happilyacceptingcookies · 29/04/2019 07:10

Will Joe be short for Joseph?

I personally think it's fine, although that may be because I'm relieved as I genuinely thought someone was asking for opinions on Snow White

Roo1982 · 29/04/2019 07:08

It literally just came into my head and I'm so sad I love the name
