Curtis or Koby?

Middle name Thomas Arthur (not like that really matters) 😂

Really hoping for a boy because I cant find 1 girls name I like but out of the 2 above which is nicer? Thanks 😁

Arthur is amazing and Thomas is nice too. Curtis and Koby are both a bit dated

How in heck is Curtis more dated than Arthur?? Arthur is a little old man, at least Curtis is only in his 40s

Koby could be a girl's name. In fact before this thread I'd have guessed it for a girl.

All @Miljah 's posts are spot on. Thomas, Arthur and Theo are all fine names with no unfortunate connotations.

I like Theo. Curtis is ok

Arthur was a hero king and you can't really get more manly that that.

To me Koby reminds me of Kobe beef or Kobe earthquake, so no associations as a man's name at all.

Rather my point. It's become a common first name, but it's originally a surname.

Quintella Ryan is quite a common first and surname here in Britain, being I guess of Irish origin.

Harrison is chosen often because parents like Harry (as do I) but consider Harold an 'old man' name.

check out this to see how many of these names would normally only be considered a surname in the UK I count about 7 out of 100!

Thea is the female version of Theo, they are names with the sex built in.

Given that we all make associations with names, I guess I dislike Curtis because it is a surname, which is what Americans do, not Brits; and I associate Curtis with a local, large, troublesome gypsy clan!

A northern Koby would be sound like Corby. A London Koby would sound like Cowby. I think it probably works better in American.

Thomas, Theo and Arthur are all fine.

I would pick Curtis. It sounds strong cool and much more interesting than Thomas, Theodore or Arthur. I know only one Curtis who's about 25.

@Atalune I do like Charley but again, know of a lot of them were I live.

Its hard as DH is from south and I am from up north so names sound so different coming out of his mouth compared to mine! Some names I love when he says them and hate when I say them 😂

Kuba is the diminutive of Jakob for Polish not Koby.

Kobe is a type of beef or a city name and not really a name as such. It sounds made up and so for me is screaming mega chav.

Curtis- of the two choose this one. However I like neither.

Theo is perfectly nice.

Koby is pretty normal in the US, which is why it may be seen as chavy in the UK.
Theo is a shortening of Theodore, it's originally a Greek name, gift from the god/s I think.
Popular in the US for a long time and recently much more popular in UK.

Thats what I asked, I didn't say if you don't like either name please tell me and the reason why! There are 100's of these types of threads.

Theo and Arthur are both great names.

Thomas,Tom,Tommy is an absolute classic that will suit him no matter what his age or personality.

Curtis sounds harsh and too surnamey to me and Koby is a name that should only be given to dogs...
