Paloma for an English girl? Is it too Spanish? Do you like it?

Footle oh, oops Blush Ok, well the word for pigeon/dove is the same in some languages, promise!

What's wrong with Paloma Faith? She's a mainstream pop singer which isn't a bad association.

Footle · 23/04/2019 17:41

Dove is colombe in French. Pigeon is pigeon.
Paloma is nice.

Love it!

I like it!

It means both dove and pigeon I think, like in French and several other languages. I think they’re actually the same bird, but doves are white.

Anyway, thanks for all the positive feedback! I tend to think Paloma Picasso rather than Faith, but hopefully the association isn’t too strong?

It's dove, not pigeon. And a beautiful name, though very Spanish.

InternationalRelationist · 23/04/2019 17:10

I thought it meant dove not pigeon?

Bythebeach · 23/04/2019 17:10

I think it’s gorgeous! Isn’t it more dove of peace than pigeon??

AuditAngel · 23/04/2019 17:09

I can’t bear it, but my husband is Spanish and I have a bird phobia. I have a Spanish friend with this as a surname

BlueMerchant · 23/04/2019 17:09

All I think is Faith. Sorry. It's too Spanish sounding too for an English girl/woman.

Iamthecaptainnow · 23/04/2019 17:08

I really liked it until I found out it means "pigeon" in Spanish. Lost its appeal somehow, after that.

Peachbubble · 23/04/2019 17:07

I like it

BackforGood · 23/04/2019 17:06

I don't like it at all.
