Friend named her girl Scarlett-June

My best friend just named her daughter Scarlett-June. I usually think hyphenated names are tacky (think Lily-May) and I've never ever liked them.
But unlike the other hyphenated tacky names out there, I think Scarlett-June is just gorgeous! It's so picturesque and beautiful. Scarlett is really spunky but then you had the -June on the end and you get a great name (I think).
So, my question (and my friend's) is are ALL hyphenated names tacky? Do you like the name Scarlett-June?
btw my friend asked me to make this thread, she's given the thumbs up, don't worry!
I'm interested to hear your thoughts! x

Tbh if your “friend” named and registered the baby as the name you’ve said it’s irrelevant what the MN jury thinks. As long as your “friend” likes the name and her dd is fit and well that’s all that matters.

For my two pence worth it’s better to have two short names if hyphenated.

Why would you post the name on here though 🤔

feelingsinister · 20/04/2019 15:26

I really dislike hyphenated names, sorry.

June-Scarlett sounds better to my ears.

No one will ever actually call her that though will they? Regardless of one’s opinion of double-barrelled names generally, shouting out “Lily-May” in the park is a very different prospect to calling out “Scarlett-June” iyswim.

MrsApplepants · 20/04/2019 15:22

Sorry I really don’t like it. I don’t think the two names go well together and don’t like either of them individually either. Sorry!!

statetrooperstacey · 20/04/2019 15:20

Tacky, sorry!whenever I hear someone shouting out a double barrelled name I just think 'twat'. Nobody needs two first names! And all her friends will call her Scarlett.

sonlypuppyfat · 20/04/2019 15:19

It's a big name to carry. Most people get their names shortened for them anyway don't they.

Mammaaofxx · 20/04/2019 15:19

My little girls name is hyphenated but not with the usual may/rose ect.. but her first name is very very unusually most people haven't heard it being used as a name before xx
