Hi! I'm currently getting a bit doubtful about the name that I picked a while ago, and I need opinions. Feels like I've already been through a hundred names, but still can't find the perfect one.

Soooo, the name that I fell in love with a few weeks ago was Delia. And now I'm having my doubts, maybe I don't love it as much as I did before..? Recently saw a thread where the name Asha came up, and that sounds so lovely as well. What would you guys choose (for a girl)? Delia or Asha?

Love Delia a lot!
Also love Delilah, Dahlia, Della & Odelia

MissHenty · 19/04/2019 18:31

Prefer Delia to Asher. Delia a lovely name. Great choice

I do prefer Delilah though. How about Celia or Cecelia

Veronic24 · 19/04/2019 03:31

Wow, thanks for all of your feedback! Delia seems to be more popular than Asha, knew there was a reason I fell in love with that name. As for some of the people who say they prefer Delilah or Dahlia, I've already considered them but crossed them off my list (Delilah is a bit of a mouthful for me, and Dahlia sounds beautiful but I've never had a pull towards flower names). Thank you all soooo much

I prefer Delia, although it does just make me think of Delia Smith. What about Delilah as others have mentioned? Asha sounds 'harsh' to me

mummmy2017 · 19/04/2019 00:44

When is the baby due?
Do you have time to ponder?

PlatypusLeague · 19/04/2019 00:36

I prefer Asha. It makes me think of long hair, joss sticks and hippies. Delia is rather prim.

Sophronia · 18/04/2019 23:45

Delia

Hanab · 18/04/2019 21:27

Which ever name sounds better with your surname 🤷🏻‍♀️

stellarfox · 18/04/2019 21:26

I like Delia but I would use Cordelia nn Delia!

pipsqueakthethird · 18/04/2019 21:24

Delia is nice.

Celia, Delilah, Dahlia, Cordelia, Cecilia also good options.

NutMeghan · 18/04/2019 19:49

Asha

Ohhellothereladyface · 18/04/2019 15:56

Just throwing it out there - Delilah rather than Delia???

SallyWD · 18/04/2019 15:53

I also love Aysha, not Asha. I know a 35 year old Aysha. She's not Asian (I thought it sounded like an Indian name)

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 18/04/2019 14:54

Delia- I know a male Asher

SallyWD · 18/04/2019 14:53

Delia is lovely, so is Celia

HoraceCope · 18/04/2019 14:05

i like Delilah

Rosesaredead · 18/04/2019 14:04

Asha is a very common Indian name so it might be a bit odd if you don't have Indian heritage? I actually don't have a problem with people using names from other countries without a connection but I know some people do. I like Delia but prefer Celia x

Flamingosnbears · 18/04/2019 12:33

Agree Dahlia would be the more popular choice now or even Cordelia...

thegreylady · 18/04/2019 12:07

Dahlia (Dayleea) like the flower.
For me Delia is all about the cookery writer.

chocolatelog · 18/04/2019 12:07

Not keen on delia prefer Delilah. I know a 26 year old asha I always thought it was her nn for Natasha but nope it's just asha. I like it though.

Dobinette · 18/04/2019 12:04

Delia sounds a bit fuddy-duddy. Sorry!

ScrewyMcScrewup · 18/04/2019 12:04

Delia is horrible but Asha isn't much better.

DramaAlpaca · 18/04/2019 12:01

Of the two, I'd pick Delia.

WouldHAVEcouldHAVEshouldHAVE · 18/04/2019 12:00

Love Asha! So cool.
Delia makes me think of someone who would wear a matching skirt and cardigan.
Delilah is nicer.

Zoeputthatdown · 18/04/2019 11:12

Delia.
