My first thought was rose-ah-leen. Rosaleen used to be a common name in Ireland and in the 19th c was the female embodiment of the country itself. Dark Rosaleen.

@PinkieTuscadero that was my mum's name, her family were Irish. I always loved it, a beautiful name and unusual now.

Its one of those I wouldn’t know how to say which would make me anxious as I’d feel I should know and so I’d try to avoid saying it till I heard someone else do it.
I don’t like names that induce that kind of anxiety (I don’t include names obviously from another language or culture in this as it’s more acceptable to ask about pronunciation for them)

But really, however Rosaline preferred it to be pronounced.

I'd pronounce it Roe-za-line, with a long first syllable, and the last syllable rhyming with sign, mine etc.

To get the '-een' pronunciation it would be Rosaleen - Roe-za-leen, the Irish name.

Neither version would have a short first syllable like Rosalind does.
