Can't settle on a girl's name..

We don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl. We've finally settled on the name Joshua for a boy but can't seem to narrow down our list of girls names and with only a couple of weeks until D-Day I'm starting to panic!

Which do you prefer (to go with a one syllable surname) or what sort of children do you associate these names with?

Ivy
Charlotte
Jessica
Chloe
Georgia

Oops sorry!!!

Congratulations!

Bumblebeesmum · 21/04/2019 21:45

I love your whole list
Georgia feels most ‘trendy’
Ivy is lovely but very much a now name (mumsnetters seem to hate that although it wouldn’t bother me)
Charlotte is a beautiful timeless classic
Jessica & Chloe - don’t love, but are nice

None would have any associations for me except possibly Georgia that seems more fashionable as a name

Can’t go wrong with that list

Love Joshua too

Thanks all, ended up having a little boy on the 17th so didn't need to make the tough girls name decision anyway!! 😊

They're all lovely names, I don't think you can go wrong.....

Personally I like Charlotte best. It's very pretty and has good choice of nickname.

Will you have a middle name?

Hate Jessica! Ivy and Georgia are the best but it is a very safe bunch.

pilates · 17/04/2019 07:35

Jessica is the best out of the bunch, strongly dislike Ivy.

Sophronia · 17/04/2019 03:34

Chloe, Jessica and Georgia are a bit 90s. Ivy is very ‘now’. I prefer Charlotte.

WallisFrizz · 16/04/2019 20:20

Jessica, great name.

BrilliantYou · 16/04/2019 20:19

Cherrysherbet · 16/04/2019 20:16

Jessica wins hands down for me. Beautiful name.

Twickerhun · 16/04/2019 20:15

Jessica and Joshua is a bit of a mouth full. I prefer Charlotte....

MikeUniformMike · 16/04/2019 20:13

I don't like Ivy or Chloe.
The others are lovely.

Shadow1234 · 16/04/2019 19:43

Georgia is my favourite on your list
Ivy always makes me think of poison Ivy
Charlotte is ok but so popular (although I do like Lottie as a nn)
Chloe - not to my taste
Jessica is ok (but I prefer Jess rather than the full name)

LittleMissMummaBear · 16/04/2019 17:48

Ivy is absolute perfection! That's deffo my fav from your list.
Georgia and Charlotte are also both lovely.
Chloe is alright.
Jessica is very dated, I've never been a fan.
good luck whichever way you go! x

pansydansy · 16/04/2019 17:21

Georgia is m favourite from your list.

MondeoFan · 16/04/2019 17:20

Georgia is best. I'm an early years teacher and all the other names are very common in and around where I work

brizzlemint · 16/04/2019 17:20

Ivy is lovely but getting very popular

Pumpkintopf · 16/04/2019 17:20

If you like Joshua, Jessica sounds quite similar- three syllables and all that.

If you have a girl, then subsequently have a boy, would you be ok with Jess and Josh?

If not, Charlotte is pretty I think.

Expressedways · 16/04/2019 17:13

Love Charlotte, Ivy is ok. Not a fan of the others.
