OK-my last attempt to offer a “new” baby name did not go down well, but I’m sure you’ll like this one....

..Ds’s mates are round for band practice- and the new drummer is..Ivo.

I know someone called Ivo (in their forties). I really like it.

I know a family with the surname Iveson. Predictably most of the men are known as Ivo.

Small Yorkshire mining town. I was surprised to see upper class people with the same name Blush

I think it's good - quite cool in fact. And certainly fits with modern popular boy sounds - Leo, Theo, Milo, Hugo.

I think the 'new' indicates that the OP knows it's not new. She means a new one for her to suggest. I think the last 'new' name she suggested was Geoffrey, or something equally Rover driving Dad.

I know one, but he's German. And I've definitely seen it in mediaeval-set novels and so on. I think it's cool.

I kept spotting these teenage twin boys who looked familiar to me in my neighbourhood, but I couldn't place them. Clicked one day that they were Alex and Ivo from Child of Our Time.

DS has a Polish friend called Ivo, (pronounced ee-vo) so I'd assumed it was Polish.

Yes, it’s pronounced ee-vo in Portuguese. I had a maths teacher called Iva once... ~ misses the point of the thread ~

I expect it's pronounced Ee-vo in all the Romance languages. It is in French.

I know of an Ivo (pronounced Eye-vo) and I've always thought it's a great name.

It was on my long list for DS but ruled out because it doesn't work brilliantly in DH's language and DH didn't like it.

It would be Ifor in welsh. My Grandad’s name. I quite like Ivo, feels similar to Asa which I also really like. Short male names are my favourite it seems.
