Thoughts on Nevaeh?

Hi, We’re expecting our 5th in June and DH recently suggested the name Nevaeh after hearing it at work, we both really like it but we looked more into it. Just so we could find the correct spelling and a middle name to go with it.

I’m not too keen on the fact it’s spelt heaven backwards, I don’t know why I’m just not. What are you thoughts? Also if you have a middle name idea please put it below so far we have;
•Nevaeh Penelope
•Nevaeh Elizabeth
•Nevaeh Imogen and
•Nevaeh Evelyn

If not what other suggestions do you have, Siblings names are;

•Willow Savannah
•Elijah Joseph
•Isabelle Olivia and
•Lydia Catherine

I think it's chavtastic. But it's your baby your choice. If you love it, use it.

That's as maybe @zombee but surely it is sensible to consider that a potential name may well have an unintended meaning in another language? Spanish is very widely spoken worldwide.

Do Not call your child Naveah. Round here you will be massive judged! It's thought of as very common. Also don't call your child Heaven. I know a girl called Heaven-Leigh and it really doesn't suit her.

I still can’t work out how to say it.
Obviously there are millions of names in other languages that are hard to say until you learn them but this one doesn’t have any kind of personal heritage.

Another vote for Maeve. You could put another twist on it and go for Maeva, which has the same sounds in as Nevaeh.

I know two Neveah's. They often get called Veneah and Neve lol

How about Nuriya? Similar sounding but not heaven backwards. It's pronounced nu-ray-a (I think it's Indian in origin)

I actually like neveah. I heard the name years ago but didn't even make the connection to heaven, and even after learning that,I still like it. But saying that my daughter has a made up name so I like them.

I know someone who liked the name but hated the spelling, so her daughter is Neviah, but pronounced the same as Neveah.

But please don't use it. Your other children have such lovely names.

I only saw the name ‘Nevaeh’ on MN a few weeks ago, I had never heard of it until then. But then I saw it on one of those stands in a garden centre of personalised notebooks/pencils etc, so I would think it must be a very popular name. Not sure if that would put you off.

There is nothing to recommend ‘Nevaeh’. Even the made up pronunciation doesn’t make sense.

All your other children’s names are lovely. Don’t lose the plot now.

Nevaeh is a very Christian Bible Belt name. I'm sure that's where it originated

Agree, I really wouldn't. Naomi yes and of all the others suggested I think Primrose would be just beautiful with you other dc's names.

Hate it, the only career path I can imagine for a Nevaeh is as a stripper.

Then you need a better imagination. I need to stay off the name board, the snobbery drives me nuts.

Just by virtue of being heaven backwards it's a no for me. I find that rather silly.
