Thoughts on Nevaeh?

Hi, We’re expecting our 5th in June and DH recently suggested the name Nevaeh after hearing it at work, we both really like it but we looked more into it. Just so we could find the correct spelling and a middle name to go with it.

I’m not too keen on the fact it’s spelt heaven backwards, I don’t know why I’m just not. What are you thoughts? Also if you have a middle name idea please put it below so far we have;
•Nevaeh Penelope
•Nevaeh Elizabeth
•Nevaeh Imogen and
•Nevaeh Evelyn

If not what other suggestions do you have, Siblings names are;

•Willow Savannah
•Elijah Joseph
•Isabelle Olivia and
•Lydia Catherine

Thank you.- Tyler.

It's hideous. It's also the sort of name chosen by people who aren't intelligent enough to think "So logically that's Hell, right?" after being told that it's Heaven backwards. At least that's what I would assume Blush

GiantPretzel · 15/04/2019 07:42

X-post with Luglio.

Shinyshit · 15/04/2019 07:42

Please don't.

GiantPretzel · 15/04/2019 07:42

Jessa, Naeva would be pronounced ‘Nayva’ rather than ‘Nevaya’, though. Plus a naevus is a birthmark.

Mintandthyme · 15/04/2019 07:39

I did a few weeks supply teaching in a really, really rough school and found two in one class! Not keen from that association,

What a bitchy snobby remark to make.

Luglio · 15/04/2019 07:38

My first thought was 'naevus'.

Another one saying 'please don't '.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 15/04/2019 07:38

Really tacky and every mother of a Neveah is always really proud that they chose such a unique name - but it’s quite popular now actually.

I was going to suggest Haven or Honor but I don’t think you’ll like those as you don’t like the heaven connection. So I guess it’s the sound you like so what about

Niamh (or Neve?? That splits opinion but I know one),
Naomi,
Eve,
Maya?

CoraCoo · 15/04/2019 07:34

It always make me think of the face cream. I don't really like it either.

Jessabean · 15/04/2019 07:33

Why not go with naeva? Has the same/similar pronunciation as far as I'm aware and isn't made up/doesn't have the cliche spelling heaven backwards thing!

That or Niamh/Neve.

StarlingsEverywhere · 15/04/2019 07:31

What about Niamh?

zen1 · 15/04/2019 07:30

Niamh or Natasha are much better.

InsertFunnyUsername · 15/04/2019 07:27

It's a shame really, because i do like the way its pronounced but you will always be met with an eye roll "heaven spelt backwards" So i prob wouldn't use it for that reason.

I've only met one, sweet little girl with her hair in bunches - Irrelevant, but that is my first thought when i hear the name!

Carpetburns · 15/04/2019 07:26

Don't do it. Truly awful.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/04/2019 07:20

Please don't!

DobbysLeftSock · 15/04/2019 07:19

I had never come across this name in real life until I did a few weeks supply teaching in a really, really rough school and found two in one class! Not keen from that association, plus the whole 'heaven spelled backwards' is a bit ridiculous.

Letthemysterybe · 15/04/2019 07:18

I didn’t realise people actually called their kids Nevaeh. I thought it was like ‘ledashuh’ .

zombee · 15/04/2019 07:18

What about vaya? Pronounced without the "nuh". I don't think it sounds as chavvy as nevaeh, it isn't as common, and it's so similar to what you like anyway.

Figure8 · 15/04/2019 07:15

Like Nivea? The face cream?

EjectorCrab · 15/04/2019 07:12

It’s an awful name, sorry OP. Your other children have lovely names.

GoFiguire · 15/04/2019 07:12

If it’s Heaven spelled backwards, why not just call her Hell?

dementedma · 15/04/2019 07:11

Really really dislike it.
Love your Elijah Joseph though! Met a little Elijah yesterday.

GiantPretzel · 15/04/2019 07:06

It makes you look like you’ve called a child after a ridiculous Internet meme. Why not call her another random backwards noun? Lleh? Gnirps? Rewolf?
