If you loved a name BUT you knew someone who had a puppy the same name?

I have been in love with the name Ivy for a wee girl for yearrrrs

Due in 11 weeks and ivy has always been the front runner.

One of my friends has recently got a puppy and sods law named her ivy.

Would it out you off naming your baby if someone had a dog named it too?

No it wouldn’t put me off, but as with a friend having a baby, when the name was announced I’d have said ‘Oh that’s the name we have chosen too, it looks like there’ll be two of them!’

I wouldn't let that put you off. It's a lovely name and not like they will go to school together or anything

No. Ivy is primarily a human name. You may lose touch with your friend. If you love it, use it. (It's a great choice.)
