My Delilah, aged 5.5 gets Lilah or just her full name from DH and I.
DS sometimes calls her Lyle and DD1 calls her Lils.
It wouldn't have occured to me to use Dolly but I suppose it is a sweet NN.

bridgetreilly · 18/04/2019 21:57

Probably doesn't help but my Delilah has ended up with the nickname potato since birth.

Hahahahahaha!!!

bridgetreilly · 18/04/2019 21:56

The thing about nicknames is you can have lots! She can be Lylee and Deedee. And also Della and Delgirl and Lilah and Lala and Po and anything else you or she can imagine. It doesn't have to be the same one forever or even one at a time.

tisonlymeagain · 18/04/2019 11:28

My DD has an easily nicknamed-name. I call her one thing at home and she chooses to be something else at school, but I never use it as it's not 'her' and she prefers her family nickname to kept separate!

Tavannach · 18/04/2019 02:00

DeeDee. The owner of the name has the casting vote.

ComedicCat · 18/04/2019 01:54

I like Lilah

NutMeghan · 18/04/2019 01:51

Deedee

MumUnderTheMoon · 17/04/2019 23:17

Della

PepsiLola · 17/04/2019 19:18

Lilah

LittleMissMummaBear · 17/04/2019 14:56

I knew a Delilah that went only by Lila. But if you use the nn then honestly I much prefer just full name Lila. Delilah is a stunning name, I think nicknames will just come naturally when you use her name around the house! good luck xx

mama1980 · 17/04/2019 12:06

My niece is a Delilah she goes by lilah most of the time.

JuniperNarni · 17/04/2019 12:05

Probably doesn't help but my Delilah has ended up with the nickname potato since birth.

BlueMerchant · 11/04/2019 11:10

Has to be DeeDee if that's what's she's asked for really.

Bumblebeesmum · 11/04/2019 11:08

I love Della I know you didn’t ask though

Tiramisu1 · 11/04/2019 11:07

'Lylee is not a nn for delilah it's a completely different name'

Bit like Dolly isn't a nickname for Delilah either - it's a shortening for Dorothy

AuntieStella · 11/04/2019 06:46

YY?

But if your DD actually wants to be called DD, then I think you'll find yourself using it. But you couid stick with your choice - I know a fair few people who have a family nn that's quite different to the variant school friends use, that's different again from their usual adult version.

Heulog · 11/04/2019 06:44

Lilo (love lilo & stitch and would think it awfully cute).
My ds2's nickname has no relevance to his actual name though.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/04/2019 06:40

Lilah. But if she wants Deedee you don’t have any choice!

WanderingTrolley1 · 11/04/2019 06:33

Dee

nocluenoidea · 11/04/2019 06:28

Lila- but if a nn is that contrived then why not just call her Lila?

Hollowvictory · 09/04/2019 23:41

Lylee is not a nn for delilah it's a completely different name.

AlwaysSunshine81 · 09/04/2019 22:49

My daughter is 4. I wanted to know your thoughts as I have been calling her lylee but today she has said deedee
