Two siblings with the same initial?

Just asking you guys to humour me here as I'm only four weeks pregnant so obvs no idea what we are having! We already have a daughter with a name beginning with M, DH and I were discussing potential girl names today and we both really like one that also begins with M. Is it weird to have two siblings with the same initial? It's Margaret/Maggie we are thinking of. Current daughter has similar 'old lady' name which we shorten in a similar way.

Growing up, my family of 4 all share the same initial - Andrew, Alice, Alex, Annabelle.

My DM and her siblings all had same initial (Alice, Anne, Adam).

I then married an Alex.

Caused/s havoc with post, but otherwise no problem. But our DC do NOT have names starting with A.

My DH and his sister have the same initial, I think it's a bit Topsy and Tim. My parents share an initial so, for reasons of 'postal confusion' deliberately gave me and DSis first names which started with different letters, but we both have middle names which start with their initial.

There was a huge family in our village where we grew up and not only did their surname begin with J but 9 out of 10 of the kids first names began with J ... the obviously ran out of names when they got to the last one as she has a different initial.

So long as you and DH are not Mary and Matt it's OK. Although if you go on to have a third child and have run out of M names they will look a bit of an afterthought. Would both shortened (presumably used most/all of the time at home) versions begin with M?

My niece and nephew have the same initial (by chance more than any plan) and it's no issue. Their names just suit them individually and that's that.

My siblings have the same first initial and have opened each other’s post when they were both still at home, so I wouldn’t give the same initial names.

I have the same initial as my sibling and I can’t say I’ve ever thought of it being an issue. When growing up perhaps the odd letter that was addressed ‘initial surname’ caused a few seconds confusion but certainly not enough to not use a name you love!

I have a friend the husband is an an M. All the kids are also M’s. I felt it was rather self obsessed of him. The wife is a B.

I have the same initials as my brother has no impact on my life at all, ever.

My 2 kids have names starting with the same letter. 3 out of my 5 siblings start with the letter S
