Please can you share your favourite Scottish boys names. I'm due in 5 weeks and can't decide. I already have a Murray. I like Bruce for a middle name. Thank you :)

Is it really popular in Scotland as we are in SE now so not too concerned? I was gutted when I found out Harris was nickname for @rse down here!

Thank you all for suggesting such great names. Ones I like in particular but are already used by close family members are:
Logan
Cameron
Gregor
Finlay
Craig
and
DS1 is Murray Alec
Arran was the second choice for DS1 but I've gone off it a little now.

I think both DH and I are agreeing on Calum and for some reason I do prefer the 1L way.

Thanks all for you input, we are 99% on Calum Bruce

Enjoy the rest of the weekend Smile

Callum is very popular just now (in case that is a no no for you)

Wallace
Finlay
Innes
Angus
Nairn
Duncan
Mitchell
Fergus

WaxOnFeckOff · 06/04/2019 21:29

Callum has 2L not one

Either is acceptable - Keir is always spelled ei though (well, apart from when it's spelled Ciar)

Bookworm4 · 06/04/2019 21:22

Callum has 2L not one

WaxOnFeckOff · 06/04/2019 21:08

Do most people prefer the 2 L spelling?

I prefer it with two but you should choose what you prefer, I'd automatically write it with two though so that might be a consideration if that's what most people do?

Bookworm4 · 06/04/2019 20:12

Euan
Kier
Alban
Murray
Blair

loveshinealight · 06/04/2019 20:08

I prefer the two L spelling, it is more common than than calum however calum is the authentic Scottish spelling. Go with what you like best!

RhymingRabbit · 06/04/2019 19:52

Sorley... Not solely

RhymingRabbit · 06/04/2019 19:52

My favourite Scottish boy's name are Solely, Sandy, and Gregor.

dimdarkashian · 06/04/2019 19:47

I notice most people are spelling Callum rather than Calum.

Do most people prefer the 2 L spelling?

Callum Bruce sounds lovely. Also love Fraser, Ruaridh, Fergus and Lachlan.

anitagreen · 06/04/2019 18:12

I don't know if it's Scottish but I do like Declan

Fluffyears · 06/04/2019 16:17

Arran if you want a place.

SilverySurfer · 06/04/2019 16:09

My favourites are Hamish and Angus.

WaxOnFeckOff · 06/04/2019 12:22

Sounds great OP. I quite fancied Callum too but my sister had already used it. :) I quite like Bruce as a first name too.

dimdarkashian · 06/04/2019 12:19

I love Alec too, that's DS1s middle name.

These are great suggestions, leaning towards Calum

Does Calum Bruce sound good as first and middle names?

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 06/04/2019 10:07

Keir
Gregor
Murdo
Cairn
Craig
Alastair
Alec

dimdarkashian · 06/04/2019 09:54

I really love Harris but it's slang for 'arse' down here apparently Blush

Calum is nice too

Blair and Innes I had on my list of girls names so I just can't see a boy with them - although I do really love them

Thanks Smile
