How would you pronounce it? Would you pronounce it differently for a boy or a girl?

Bow-we as in low.

Please don't call your child Bowie, is not unique or cute. I love unusual names but it just sounds silly. Sorry.

As in David, you’re meant to pronounce it Bow-ie (bow to rhyme with low). It’s not a suitable first name for a human though.

I’ve never heard it another way. I suppose I can see why it would be pronounced to rhyme with now.

If you're looking for something original, please think of another name! There were two Bowies in my baby group of 12, and three Beaus (mix of girls and boys). Still have no idea how to pronounce it and neither will anyone else as they grow up.

I can never remember how to pronounce the David version!

Although i do know a little boy Bowie pronounced Bow-we (like a ribbon)

Bow-ee.. Bow rhyming with Now. But sometimes I think I say Bow-ee with Bow as in a hair bow. So I'm not really helping. What's the 3rs way?
