Felix, Jack or Dominic?!

That quite simply. Due a boy very soon but struggling with names. Husband initially reluctant on Felix due to the cat thing but warming to it now. What do you ladies think??

Felix, then Dominic. Jack was the No1 boys name for years and I don't like it, it's too nicknamey and deliberately "cheeky chappie".

My son is called Felix. He will be 24 this year and we have found it to be a lovely name for him.

Only problem we had was when I first told my father over the phone what we had called him.

My father was furious and had a massive rant of which I was most confused about.

Eventually we realised that he has misheard me and thought I had said Phoenix!

We have a 3 year old Felix. He is the most gorgeous boy and we all love his name.

Dominic - a wet name. Do not like the shortening to 'Dom'.

Felix - 'cats like Felix, like Felix'.

Jack - lovely name. Yes it is popular but it is so for a reason.

Felix is a cat to me & I hope I’m not ‘older generation’ at 32 Grin
2 friends have recently had babies named Felix so I’m losing the cat association- it’s a really lovely name (& a cat association isn’t that bad - it’s not like suggesting Adolf!)

Jack isn’t perennially popular as a given name. I don’t know any given name Jack’s older than 30.

Just realised an awful girl from school had a baby Dominic in 6th form... NAME RUINED!!! It has to be Felix. Have another few days to convince my husband the cat thing isn't that big of a deal breaker. Smile

Dominic is a great name.

Felix is OK.

Jack is a nickname, and so common you can't throw a stone without hitting one.

Dominic is interesting and not too of the moment.

Felix is very 2017/2018/2019 isn't it. I know loads of baby Felixes so unfortunately it's not as cool as it might be.

Jack is popular but perennially so - the name won't tie him to any particular age. It's a solid name and despite the stats I don't know any.

Felix is my favourite of the three.

Dominic is alright, not overly popular, no dodgy connotations.

Jack is so, so over used and dull.

Of the 3, Felix because Jack is so popular. I don't like Dominic - it ends up being Dom.

Felix=cat food brand
Dominic=dominate

Thanks for all the opinions. I love the meaning behind the name Felix too and I foolishly (blame pregnancy hormones) hope that it'll mean he is a happy/lucky wee chap. Think Jack is off the table now. I'm 70% Felix, 30% Dominic so will wait and see what he looks like when he comes out in a few days! Smile Thanks again xx

My favourite is Jack, a lovely name imo.
then Felix, then Dominic. Don't know why but Dominic seems like a mouthful to me! x

I love Dominic but my DH won’t use due to someone he knew and didn’t like being named it 🙄 I’d have loved to use it for our son so that would be my choice. All great names though x

Good names! I like them all!

I'd rule out Jack due to popularity. Too common. Then from my personal choice on the remaining two, I'd pick Dominic. Such a great and underused name.

Dominic is my favourite on that list. Its DS1s name.
I like both Jack and Felix too.
