I am SO INDESCIVE, first we liked Elsie Belle, then Maggie, but now me and my DH finally agree on this name (Ivy, middle name Alice) and I think it is lovely with my first DD's name (Ruby). it really suits my DD too. What does everyone think? x

Beautiful name choice! I adore Alice, it's been my favourite girls name forever. But Ivy Alice sounds lovely, and goes really well with Ruby.

autumnkate · 01/04/2019 08:55

It feels a bit Victorian scullery maid to me!

Greeborising · 01/04/2019 02:42

Wanted to call youngest Alice, love the name

MercyBodle · 01/04/2019 02:32

I think it's really lovely. And I love Ruby and Ivy as sisters.

Bumblebeesmum · 31/03/2019 23:21

Beautiful

Clownfish123 · 31/03/2019 15:47

I prefer Ivy to Elsie and Maggie and it goes far better with Ruby.
I saw your other thread and didn't think Maggie worked but didn't want to say anything as it looked like you had already decided. Ruby is pretty whereas Maggie is a cool name that's adorable on a little girl but it it's not very pretty for a teen or adult, and potentially a bit frumpy, unlike Ruby which is lovely.
Ivy and Ruby sound like sisters!

Lovely, nice change from the variations of Evie without being too out there. I am biased though, as if I didn't already have a horse called Ivy it would have been on my shortlist, Alice is 🙂

adearydeer · 31/03/2019 09:00

Ivy is so beautiful. Really lovely name op!

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 31/03/2019 08:56

That is the most beautiful name I have heard in a long time.

Bellaposey · 31/03/2019 08:54

I think Ruby and Ivy sound great as sisters.
Congrats. Enjoy them both

GreatDuckCookery · 30/03/2019 18:45

Ivy is worse than Elsie. Awful.
Alice is nice though.

Originofstars · 30/03/2019 18:13

The names of my nans ❤️

IchibanLipstickForMen · 30/03/2019 18:12

Don't like how they sound and sort of slur together. Sounds like 'Ivy Yalice'

CallMeOnMyCell · 30/03/2019 18:12

I have an Ivy. Ivy Alice is lovely, such a pretty name Smile

HisBetterHalf · 30/03/2019 18:06

Lovely name x

Lovely names.

I'm also a teacher. Early in my career, we had an old battleaxe school cook called Ivy. One year, she wouldn't let us have the jellies from the fridge for the Christmas party, because she and the kitchen staff were eating their lunches. They had to have them the next day. We still loved her.

DarlingLittleBabyName · 30/03/2019 18:05

@bridgetreilly yes I see your point, it's not like I changed my mind about the previous names due to other people's views, I changed my mind because they simply didn't work for me anymore! I just wanted to see what other people from different areas think about the name Ivy, and plus extra reassurance never hurt anybody! xx

I think if you're that indecisive, the best thing to do is pick a name and then not post on a naming forum asking what people think about it.

DarlingLittleBabyName · 30/03/2019 17:20

@Whereareyouspot lovely reply thank you, this really made me smile! x

I love Ivy.
Beautiful classic and underused name

Alice works well as a mn and it goes well with ruby too

Looks like you have cracked it!

SallyWD · 30/03/2019 17:17

Lovely name. I know one little Ivy. It really suits her.

BirthdayKake · 30/03/2019 17:08

I love those names BUT there's sort of a "phallus" sound in there which is why we can't have an Effie Alice
