Strong girl names - suggestions please!

We're expecting DD1 in a few months and would love some suggestions for strong girl's names.

We have a double barrelled surname so don't want anything too fussy - DH says that growing up the DB surname led everyone to think he was "posh" and so doesn't want the same assumptions to be made for her.

All suggestions greatly appreciated!

Some of these are great thanks - our shortlist has grown.

I can see that we tend to favour shorter names, but also ones that aren't TOO traditional.

Agreed re the DB surname - I couldn't give a toss what people think but can also see that if went for something overtly 'posh' it would sound OTT. Luckily I don't think either of us are attracted to those types of names anyway.

We have looked back at family names and have some good (and goddamnawful) ones. Sadly I think the ones we love will have to be relegated to middle names...

Traditional names tend to last, avoid anything ending in a y (apart from Mary). You can always shorten a name so the full name was my preference for the birth certificate.

I know a 2yo called Agatha and it totally changed my opinion of it. Very strong but beautiful.

Astrid is another one (I'm not a big fan but it's strong).
I like Natasha and Phoebe suggested by PPs. There's Daphne too.
My favourite is Ada, though. I'd use it myself if I had a girl and it worked in DH's language (it doesn't!)

Just to say, my OH has a DB surname and had the same assumptions that he was 'posh'.... tbh though I think these days people will just expect that it's parents aren't married. We are not which makes people doubly confused with a DB surname and a mother with a different name.
