Strong girl names - suggestions please!

We're expecting DD1 in a few months and would love some suggestions for strong girl's names.

We have a double barrelled surname so don't want anything too fussy - DH says that growing up the DB surname led everyone to think he was "posh" and so doesn't want the same assumptions to be made for her.

All suggestions greatly appreciated!

Grin pink my name is also on the short list! hated it as a child and desperately wanted to be called Becky.

My name is there. I hated it as a child as I was the only person in my school of 1500 with that name. However as everyone has a younique name now you don't have to worry about that. Call me petrified though and I will defriend you

My DD is called Anya, after my granny. Both are incredibly stubborn, strong personalities, with a wicked sense of humour.

Robin is a boy's name; use Robyn
Martha is a horrible granny name and I've no idea why it's so popular atm
Zoe is too 80s/90s
Cleo - short for Cleopatra although I think you could use Cleo by itself

For the middle name I would use a family name personally. I don't think popularity matters for middle names. Rose is short and sweet; one syllable is good for a middle name when the surname is double-barrelled.

@NameChange30 Yes unfortunately he casts that net pretty wide but I wouldn't want him to impose a name on me that I didn't like so that's fair enough.

Am going to compile a shortlist (not sure how short it'll be though!) of favourite first and second names to try and narrow things down....!

I think some "granny" names are classics ie used for more recent generations too.
Other "granny" names have not been used for several decades for a reason! Gladys being one Grin

I hate "granny vintage" too but I like Margot, it's not in the same category in my mind (probably because it's French).

Please do tell us your shortlist or at least the names you like from this thread!

@NameChange30 Eve is a nice name but too much of the Evie / Ava / Ivy genre I think.

DH will not contemplate anything 'granny vintage' so that rules out names like Margot, Gladys, Margaret etc
