what does everyone think of baby name

I like the basic concept but not keen on the spelling. Rather than Iveigh-Mae Lacey I think Ivy May Lacey looks better but that's my personal opinion

Depends how much you want people to secretly laugh at your child’s name. Which they will.

I’m sure ‘everyone’ doesn’t like it, they just don’t want to admit it.

Ivy May is nice - but anything hyphenated is horrid, and especially with Mae. Iveigh-Mae sounds like the name you'd give a child born to a teenage mother on a sink estate. Harsh but true.
Alternative spellings just make me cringe.

Yikes. Don’t call her that. Call her Ivy (spelt like that) sure. Even May as a middle name (spelt like that) is alright. But no mad spellings, no hyphens and no Lacey.

Iveigh is ridiculous.... and massively chavvy and made up. Plus it's would sound like I-vay not vee.

Mae and Lacey make it even worse.

How you spell it is totally up to you but like many others I prefer the Ivy spelling.

Iveigh is ludicrous and people will assume you are illiterate. Mae has been done to death but have it if you must.

It's truly bloody terrible. Purely due to the spelling, and the hyphenated names. Ivy (fn) May (mn) Surname would be so much better, and your daughter would thank you for it. Lacey cheapens it imo.

Why ask what people think of the name only to get stroppy and decide your going to land your child with a name just to spite strangers on the internet? Grow up. Ivy May Lacey is a fine name but hyphenating with Mae has become very common and Iveigh does look made up and a bit try hard.

Perhaps instead of calling your child after other people you could give her a different name that is truly her own?

My friend called her daughter Sofie. We warned her that she would be spelling it forever but she wouldn’t listen.

She now regrets not spelling it Sophie.

Unfortunately this website is known for its brutal responses OP so canvassing for opinions for a double barrelled ‘younique’ spelling was probably always going to end badly.
Ivy is a lovely name however I echo all of the above responses and would opt for the traditional spelling if for no other reason other than you/she will spend the rest of your/her life correcting people and being met with a expression. Hyphenating it is your decision obviously, but it’s not generally very popular, however there is nothing wrong with it, it’s personal preference.

I think Mae is a lovely name. I know someone who has given her DD three names, the first ones 2 syllables, then followed by Mae.

Just read OPs comments on another post and now think this might not be a joke? Sorry OP... But please don't name your daughter Iveigh-Mae Lacey. Because 1) Iveigh is a stupid made up spelling which looks naff and will leave your daughter with a lifetime of correcting people and being irritated 2) Iveigh, as others have pointed out, isn't even pronounced like "Ivy", it's pronounced like "Eye-Vay" which isn't a name and is horrible. 3) Hyphenated names are really overdone and look (sorry to say this but) really chavvy, especially names hyphenated with "Mae".

Can't you name her Ivy May, which is much nicer and classier and just 1000x better in every way than Iveigh-Mae Lacey?

According to the General Register Office for England and Wales there have only been 2 Iveighs registered that would be old enough to be a grandmother. One has the middle name Grace the other Isabel - both of which are far better than Mae.

How do you find this information out off the register? Keen to look for my own children's names x

Ivy May Lacey or Ivy Mae Lacey are lovely options, but Iveigh is pronounced Eyevay and just doesn't work. And 2 names with no hyphen is just much cooler and classier than a hyphen. I don't often agree with the majority on name forums but this time I do!

Like many above I think Ivy May Lacey works, and would also discourage the Iveigh spelling.

You can call a daughter Ivy May without it being hyphenated, and she will have the choice of what she is called by friends and teachers etc as she gets older. Schools generally include "known as" on their registration paperwork so you can specify what children are called day-to-day (eg nicknames, diminutives) when it is different to their birth certificates.

I love Ivy or May as a first name.

Then a longer/classic middle name. Not Mae or Lacey - sorry both sound common to me.
