I love both too. I'd probably opt for Leo but it's close.

Rainbodash · 01/04/2019 18:08

I love both. I would probably go for Leonardo (Leo) Alexander.

NannyPear · 01/04/2019 18:06

Tabbie I do like Max too! Also on the shortlist.

Aargh I do keep going back to Leo. I'm in Scotland and it made the top 10 last year, that's literally the only thing putting me off as I love the name.

Leo

Oliversmumsarmy · 01/04/2019 07:13

Prefer Alexander.

Leo i would think suggests a particular time of birth

jcq17 · 01/04/2019 07:09

Leo

tabbiemoo · 01/04/2019 07:07

I like Leo. Far too many Alex’s around for my liking. Leo Alexander sounds nice.
Max is a similar name you might also like?

drinkswineoutofamug · 01/04/2019 07:02

I have a Leo , he's in his 20's now. I was a bit pissed when tony Blair copied us and name their son Leo 🤣
Only met 1 other Leo since I had my son

alexleo · 01/04/2019 06:57

Ha - snap @YouSetTheTone ! Mine are the other way around though Smile

alexleo · 01/04/2019 06:55

NC for this as it's obviously outing but I have two boys - Alexander and Leo! The older one is Alexander so I guess in that sense it was my first choice but I love, love the name Leo. Funnily enough I know hardly any other boys his age named Leo. He's 3. Alex is 5 and I know a couple of other Alexanders. I don't think they're overly popular actually but in any event, I think they are classics and will endure for ever.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/04/2019 06:26

Alexander

MercyBodle · 01/04/2019 06:23

I really love both so this is a tough one. As a pp said I like the simplicity of Leo, and the 'o' ending. I like the classic nature of Alexander and the fact that there are so many good short forms - I particularly like Alec, and Lex is rather cool. No help here!

Calixtine · 31/03/2019 07:13

Love both but I slightly prefer the simplicity of Leo.

DarlingLittleBabyName · 30/03/2019 21:29

I personally prefer Leo, Alexander is lovely too though x

Nathansmommy1 · 30/03/2019 20:11

I love both but I think I'd choose alexander

HunterHearstHelmsley · 26/03/2019 21:47

Leo.

Alexander is too dated. Alex or Xander would ne nice. Or Alexander as a middle name.

YouSetTheTone · 26/03/2019 21:46

I have a Leo and an Alexander! Great taste op Grin

Love both names, so hard to advise really... Despite both being popular I don’t know any others of either in their age groups. Leo is the only one in his class and Alex hasn’t started school yet, although there is another one at his nursery.

I guess it’s a ‘wait and see’ - try them both after birth and it’ll come to you!

dillytilly · 25/03/2019 20:08

Alexander!! Much more classic but Leo is very gorgeous too

Bumblebeesmum · 25/03/2019 17:59

I love both

PBobs · 25/03/2019 13:13

Alexander. I only like Leo pronounced with the e as a short e like in echo. But that would be tricky in the UK. Alexander has so many nickname options. It's a great name.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 25/03/2019 12:30

Alexander. I don't know many little ones tbh. Like both Xand/Xander and Alex as shortenings.

EngagedAgain · 25/03/2019 12:26

I think they are both nice, but if I had to pick one it would be Alexander.

ShanghaiDiva · 25/03/2019 12:18

Alexander

BlueMerchant · 25/03/2019 12:17

Leo. I think it's both classy and modern. Can imagine a Leo as confident and strong.
Alexander. Very classic.Like nn Alex. Can imagine Alexander as thoughtful and intelligent.
