Eleanor or Georgia?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted some opinions on these names. 30 weeks now and we still are not 100% on a name for our little girl! We want something strong/not particularly fussed about it sounding conventionally pretty.

All honest opinions welcome.

Georgia. Not that keen on the abbreviations for Eleanor.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 23/03/2019 20:09

Eleanor. Lots of choice for short versions although my Eleanor has stayed Eleanor.

deadsexy · 23/03/2019 20:01

I adore the name Eleanor!!

MeMeMeYou · 23/03/2019 19:59

I liked Ellen and Elin when preg too

MeMeMeYou · 23/03/2019 19:58

Much prefer Eleanor. I think it’s classier and less over-popular. There seem to be loads of teens called Georgia in particular

Normandy144 · 23/03/2019 19:53

Georgia is gorgeous, really nice. Eleanor is fine, a classic name, but i don't like it as much. Not keen on Ellie as a nickname and don't like how sometimes it can be pronounced El-an-oor as opposed to El-en-ah

GlitterPixie · 23/03/2019 19:41

Georgia

EmmaC78 · 23/03/2019 19:38

I like both but slightly refer Eleanor.

parttimeateverything · 23/03/2019 19:24

Eleanor it's beautiful

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2019 18:52

Eleanor, it's very elegant & beautiful with a long history.

Georgina is a classier version of Georgia.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 23/03/2019 18:30

Georgia. There are a lot of Eleanor's around.

mintich · 23/03/2019 18:13

Georgia (I prefer Georgina) although only marginally, both Eleanor and Georgina were on my baby name list!

CountFosco · 23/03/2019 18:13

Eleanor is one of my favourite names. Not so keen on Georgia (it's still perfectly acceptable though) like Georgina more.

IVflytrap · 23/03/2019 18:09

Eleanor, with Georgia as her middle name.

MotherOfTheNoise · 23/03/2019 17:59

Definitely Eleanor (but I may be biased Wink) and my nickname is Nori so not the typical Ellie, Ella, Elle etc.

CrazyOldBagLady · 23/03/2019 17:52

Both lovely names, they were both on our girls list. Difficult to say one or the other but I think Georgia is my favourite of the two at the moment.

thefirst48 · 23/03/2019 17:50

Georgia.

Eleanor will just get shorted to Ellie which is to popular these days.

AloneLonelyLoner · 23/03/2019 17:46

Eleanor. Georgia is truly the pits.

CloserIAm2Fine · 23/03/2019 17:44

Georgia

Eleanor is lovely, but if shortened to Ellie gets rather lost in a sea of Ellie/Ella/Eva/Evie type names imo

mrsdavys · 23/03/2019 17:43

A thousand times Eleanor

Sexnotgender · 23/03/2019 17:39

I have a total irrational dislike of Georgia.

I love Eleanor, it was high on my list if DS had been a girl.

Ohyesiam · 23/03/2019 17:37

Georgia, really lovely.
Eleanor is dignified, butboth that I know are Elly, which I don’t like and v similar to Ella Elsa etc that are everywhere.

pazwaz70 · 23/03/2019 17:30

Georgia, but I'm biased. Daughter is called it.

MyDcAreMarvel · 23/03/2019 17:28

Eleanor , Georgia is awful.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 23/03/2019 17:28

Georgia but Georgina is the better version.
