Connie or Madeline?

I think we’re down to final 2. (For now)
One is my favourite the other is DH’s. But we do like them both, we may end up putting them into a hat.
Which would you choose?

They're both nice but I prefer Madeleine.

As for it reminding people of Madeleine McCann, she is a beautiful little girl, as I'm sure your daughter will be too.

Thanks @ApplestheHare I do really like Adeline! That’s been brought up before.. what would nn be do you think! Ada? Oh no more votes for Connie making it even harder 🙈 I was hoping for a clear winner!

Connie! My beloved Grandma was called Constance Clara Charles and I loved her name! We called her Emma for some reason Smile

ilovecheese1 I'm surprised so many people on here associate Madeleine with McCann enough to put them off the name... strange!

For other names how about:

I prefer Connie.

Madeleine has the immediate McCann association and I think choosing a name with a specific, less common, pronunciation in mind is a path to life long infuriation for you and your DD.

@ilovecheese1 - intermittently. Although whenever asked what she wants to be called she chooses her full name so that’s what she is known as at school and all activities.

People will pronounce it Mada-lynn not Mada-line and just assume its a typo.
Madeleine, pronounce Mada-lynn is lovely, love the nickname Maddie.

We aren’t keen on Constance, sounds a bit harsh for our taste. I agree with some nicknames but actually, i think Connie is a pretty good stand alone name.
@beanhunter tbh I’m inclined to agree with you, the reason for our spelling choice is because we would prefer it be pronounced ‘mada-line’ & think this spelling lends itself to that.
