What are people's thoughts on this name? For a boy or girl?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sophronia · 18/03/2019 18:41

I like it for either.

mrsdavys · 18/03/2019 17:01

Made me think of quim

daisypond · 18/03/2019 17:00

Truly awful on a girl particularly - because of "quim", as above.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 18/03/2019 16:59

I prefer it for a boy.

BlackPrism · 18/03/2019 16:57

Makes me think of Harley Quinn and def for a girl

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/03/2019 16:54

I like it. For a girl.

Currently expecting and may suggest it but expect it to be a no. Too out there for dp Hmm

ilovecheese1 · 18/03/2019 16:52

I like it a lot for a girl, it’s very cool. I don’t like it much for a boy.

NoMorePeppa · 18/03/2019 15:54

I'm rather biased as I have a Quinn, but I love it Grin

DH suggested it when I was pregnant and I shot him down. As soon as DD was born, I changed my mind and she really suits it. Plus it flows with our rather awkward surname.

PuzzlingPuzzle · 18/03/2019 15:50

DD goes to a toddler gymnastics class where there are 3 Quinns out of about 12 children! 2 girls and 1 boy. This is in the US though so it might be less popular if you’re in the U.K. Personally it wouldn’t be my first choice of name but I don’t dislike it for a girl.

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2019 15:47

I don't like it for either. I agree with what ShowOfHands said, and did a double take when I saw it.

It's just another Irish surname being used as a first name, a trend I find really strange.

WishUponAStar88 · 18/03/2019 15:44

Strikeout fail Blush

WishUponAStar88 · 18/03/2019 15:44

I’m usually a fan of —boring— traditional names but I really like Quinn for either a boy or a girl.

Susannach · 18/03/2019 15:34

I like it and prefer it for a boy

ParadiseLaundry · 18/03/2019 15:18

I like it. We've discussed it for DS2 who's on the way. There are two Quinns where we live that I know of, both boys. I do sort of think it sounds a bit feminine because I think of Quinn from Glee who was a girl but it's not foo feminine to rule it out as a boys name imo.

BumbleBeee69 · 18/03/2019 15:18

I love it for either OP Flowers

ShowOfHands · 18/03/2019 15:09

I'm afraid at a glance, it looks like "quim" and I always hear it intoned by Loki. I don't really like surnames as first names but this has an added element of "wtf".

Icklepup · 18/03/2019 15:08

I like it for a boy

Scoutsrus · 18/03/2019 15:08

I’m Irish and Quinn is a boys name where I’m from. I like it.

dreichuplands · 18/03/2019 15:08

I think of it as more feminine not really sure why.
I think there are many nicer girl names though.

sunshineandshowers21 · 18/03/2019 15:07

i like it for a girl but not for a boy.
