How many Olivers/Olivias do you actually know?

I know these two have been the top baby names for donkeys, but annoyingly I really like them both (we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl) and they go well with our awkward one syllable surname.

I have a fair few friends with children and there are no Oliver's or Olivia's.. so I was curious to know how many everyone else knew? I wonder if there are any regional influences, is it a more southern or northern name perhaps??

I know 5 baby Oliver’s, not a single Baby Olivia (a few 20+)

Olivia- I counted 10 but I’m sure I know more than 10. All aged between 14 and 21

I know one Oliver and two Olivias but personally popularity doesn’t put me off names at all. if you love it you should go for it! i adore the name Olivia especially nn Via I think its darling xx

I know a 43 year old Oliver and it was unusual then.
I know several others whose ages range from 23 to 6.
As for Olivia most of the ones I know are around 22-10.
I don't know any tiny Olivias.

Names very much seem to be regional. In our area there aren’t very many Olivers or Olivias. But in DS’s class there are 3 Isaacs and I know 5 Theo’s/Theas who were born in the last 4 years.

I know 4 Olivers, 2 of which are in DD's reception class.
I know 2 Olivias. One is middle-aged, the other early teens.
I also know an Olive which is nice and less common.

I know a 17y Olivia, 14y Oliver, 9 y Oliver and about 7y Olivia.

At the infant school I work at we have 1 Oliver and 1 Olivia - 290 children aged 4-7y.

I work in a 2 class intake school so approx 60 kids per year and there is a least 1 Oliver and/or Olivia in the majority of the classes.

Olivers - 3 (only one child, 2 grown ups)
Olivias - 6 (all children)

I have an Oliver, there was only one other in his previous school and he doesn’t know any others in his current school.
Have known a couple of Olivia’s, both lovely names and both popular for good reason - timeless and classic.
I have two older boys who also had top 5 names for the year of their births, but this was in the 90’s and I had no idea about popularity!
Their names are also timeless, my 4th boy has a more unusual name, 77th the year he was born but we know several now!

Just go with what you like, It feels to me that a wider range of names are used now and as such the popular names are not used as frequently if you see what I mean?

3 Olivers in DD year and 1 Olivia

2 Olivers and 1 Olivia in DS year

Both me and DH have an Oliver at work he also has an Olivia

Olivia's- 4. 1 is 30, 1 is 19, 1 is 3 and 1 is 18 months

Oliver's - 3. 2 are 3 and the other is 2

I have an Oliver who is 16. He's the only one in his secondary school.
Dd is in year 3 and there is an Oliver and an Olivia in her class.
We're in the North West.

Two Olivers. One is almost 100 years old so might not count for the 'how popular is this name currently' discussion.

Maybe half a dozen Olivias, aged from 45 down to 11.

In DC's school there is an Ollie (assume they're Oliver) and an Olivia in each class.

We also have an Oliver in the family and friends recently named their DS Oliver as well. I also work with an Olivia. So yes, very popular.

I used to like the name Olivia about 10 years ago. I remember it was in a TV show and I thought it was really unusual at the time!!

Lovely names - popular for a good reason. If they feel like the one for your little baby I wouldn’t be put off by the popularity. My son has a popular name - we’ve only come across one other his age so far.

There are quite a few Olivia’s and Oliver’s in my school, at least one per year group and sometimes more than that. Have you thought of the name Olive instead?
