Madeleine

I have a Madeleine and I highly recommend it!

AJPTaylor · 16/03/2019 07:51

Dd2 Is 21 and is a Madeleine. It's a name that has served her well!

She’s a missing child not a mass murderer, even if you do think of her it’s not a terrible thing

Well said, I’m sick of seeing posters saying that they’d never choose Madeleine because of Madeleine McCann. It baffles me how on earth they connect a small child going missing to something distasteful or negative.

Now if it was Myra then I would understand but not Madeleine, fwiw I think it’s beautiful and a million times nicer than Grace which imo is ok for a middle name.

Madeleine Grace for me

I didn’t for a second think of Madeleine McCann and I just read a news story about her earlier this morning !

BloominSloe · 16/03/2019 06:49

Both! Madeleine Grace sounds beautiful!

I don't ever associate the name Madeleine with Madaleien McCann. It's just a name. It's stupid to link names with a missing person! Does it suggest that everyone with the same name who has ever gone missing or done a horrendous crime will have the same fate? Madeleine is a beautiful name and it's hardly notorious.

RagamuffinCat · 16/03/2019 05:57

I love Madeleine. It's a beautiful name.

Peachbubble · 16/03/2019 05:56

I vote for Grace

blackcat86 · 16/03/2019 05:41

I love both names and DD was almost a grace. But maybe reconsider Madeline depending on when you're due as Netflix are launching a Madeline McCann document which could be an uncomfortable link. We discounted Madeline for this reason

HeronLanyon · 16/03/2019 05:10

I like both. Love ‘maddy’ as nickname or ‘mads’ both of which friends of mine are known by.
Grace is very beautiful - I know it is hugely used as a middle name - is it ‘overused’ (as if there were a limit!) as a first name?
