just been reading thru some of the baby name threads - first time on this section of the board and its been really interesting to hear peoples differing opinions!

So I'm curious - what type of person comes to mind when you hear the name Lara?

Posh? Chavvy? Sweet? Strong? And do you like it as a name?

I know two Lara's and they are nothing like the ones described on here! Grin

RoseMartha · 20/03/2019 18:46

I know two, one a teen & one an adult. Both very independent with their own style.

Orangeslemon24 · 20/03/2019 13:43

spikey name, I don't like it much.

foxtiger · 20/03/2019 10:11

This name is just unusual enough that I would assume it to belong to someone quite creative and independent.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 18/03/2019 23:18

I'm American and have been watching the show Billions. The wife is named Lara. Shes a know-it-all and very self righteous. She's very confident so I guess that's a good thing. I prefer Lara to Laura. It's a pretty name. I like Lana more but that's a bit of a departure.

chipsandgin · 18/03/2019 22:03

Awesome and strong, love it - quite like Lana, Luella & Lyra too!

PippilottaLongstocking · 18/03/2019 22:01

Only Lara I know is a serial MLMer so not a positive association for me! But if I separate the name from the person it’s quite nice, not one I’d use personally but not one I’d judge anyone else for using

nocluenoidea · 18/03/2019 21:51

Blonde, sophisticated and in their 30's- not a babies name imo

OutwithMyRemit · 18/03/2019 20:23

A Tomb Raider.

TipseyTorvey · 17/03/2019 10:29

Lara Croft always. I like the name though.

AliceLiddel · 17/03/2019 00:53

MrsBungle · 17/03/2019 00:32

I know an adult Lara and a child Lara. Lovely name.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 17/03/2019 00:30

Airy fairy, a bit ditzy and lacking in gravitas.

AlliKaneErikson · 17/03/2019 00:26

Mine is beautiful, lively, creative, musical, artistic and very sweet!

ichbineinstasumer · 16/03/2019 17:34

AmethystRaven · 16/03/2019 17:30

I once knew a little girl called Lara and she was a delight. Very smiley, polite and a bundle of energy!

TatianaLarina · 16/03/2019 17:27

Croydon face lift, hard as nails, big hoop earrings.

JimJamJarmusch · 16/03/2019 15:15

It always sounds a bit wet to me. Don't know why.

emilybrontescorsett · 16/03/2019 15:07

Strong willed and independant.

funmummy48 · 16/03/2019 08:02

She is slightly aloof until she gets to know you, then an absolutely loyal friend. She's tall, athletic and graceful and a bit of an all rounder intellectually. She's a good egg.

Roomba · 16/03/2019 08:01

The only Lara I know is one of the loveliest women I know. She's very kind, thoughtful and caring. She's also frighteningly clever.

I think it's a great name, really like it.
