Sibling names starting with the same letter?

I always said I wouldn't but absolutely adore a name that starts with the same letter as DC1? Thoughts? Is it chavvy?

Me and brother. Didn't like it as children, don't mind it now, sixty years later.

I think 2 siblings with the same initial is fine but more than that is a but naff. I know a woman with 4 kids all begining with C... It's a bit corny imo

I'll overlook the use of the thoroughly unpleasant term 'chavvy' & say that I think it's fine as long as the names in question aren't too matchy.

I think it's fine so long as they (a) actually are spelled like that, so you haven't just changed it to match (like Khloe) and (b) don't rhyme or match in some other way as well.

2 of my sons have the same initial. Didn't really think about it tbh. Post isn't usually addressed to initial and surname these days it's first name surname so that shouldn't be an issue.

My brother and I have the same initials (and obviously same surname growing up).

DH, DD and I all have the same first 2 initials and surname.

It really is not a problem. Never has been. The post children get is minimal; it’s usually just birthday cards.

If the dc are of different sexes, then I’d say go for it. If they are both the same sex, you may have problems when they are older and get post. Eg Which Mr R Meadow is this for?

Why would it be ‘chavvy’?

I have the same first initial as my brother and so do both my children.

I don't see it as chavvy at all (unless you have 26 children who all begin with the same letter, and take liberties with spellings to make all the names fit the pattern), but I wouldn't do it myself for practical reasons - letters being opened by the wrong person, etc.

I think it depends on the names themselves and how similar they sound. Could you tell us what they are?
