Are these names too marmite?

Trying to pick a girls name and here's the shortlist... I know a few of these some people either love or hate. I don't want to pick something too of the moment but I don't want something boring either... which would you pick? I have a son with a very classic name... Happy for other suggestions too.

Agnes is literally the ugliest name I can think of. I like the others but not mad on Astrid

Like Agnes and Agatha. If you are drawn to flower names, Iris is lovely. (I have a Lily).

I love them all. Blossom is my favourite, Celine my least favourite.

Astrid, Agnes, Greta and Genevieve I like.
Celine is Celine Dion to me.
Lavender is really not to my taste.
Jemima is awful. It's a puddle duck to me.

Ooh I adore Amaryllis! I love Jemima from your list, and think Cleo is also a great choice. I do like Lavender and Tulip, but don't find them easy to use in real life: I would love them as a middle name. If you love Blossom I would use it for a nickname for something more classic. Celine is very bland and would be the first one I'd cross off. Astrid and Agnes are okay, just not my personal cup of tea. From other suggestions I think Greta, Susannah, Victoria are great.

Jemima is not in the top 100 names so I wouldn't worry about popularity.
Jemima Tulip or Cleo Lavender would work!

Love Astrid and Agnes but I'm Scandinavian and they are common names here. Don't know how they are seen in the UK.

My DD is Jemima, I’ve not met another one yet.
She usually gets called Mima!
It’s my favourite from your list but I might be biased !
What about Nancy, Bridie, Genevieve or Eliza ?

I love Audrey.
Plus it looks like I am the only one this thread to really like Blossom! In fact I like it so much that I have named one of my cats Blossom.
There was a girl in DDs school last year named Amaryliss…..beautiful.

@17caterpillars1mouse finally someone else who likes tulip! I don't know why everyone hates it so much! Yep I love the book Matilda so lavender is definitely from that... I'm sad it doesn't shorten well.

@SteelRiver I agree and I do also like faith and Alexandra but unfortunately can't use the latter as already in the family.

It is hard picking a name that's classic/not too common/pretty/strong/not too unusual/versatile Confused

Sorry, OP, but none of the names on your original list appeal to me. NeverTalksToStrangers has come up with some lovely suggestions, though. I especially like Caroline (or Carolina), Louisa and Zoe. Faith is an absolutely beautiful name.

I quite like names which are very versatile and can be adapted depending on the bearer's age, Alexandra for example - Lexie, Alex, Alexa, Lex. I don't envy parents having to pick names now. Sometimes, I feel that some parents often don't think ahead to their kid being a teen, or in the workplace, a parent themselves, a pensioner etc. This is why I'm not keen on some of the 'in fashion' names; pick an always stylish name instead.

I also really like Tulip though it's definitely marmite but imo some of the best names are

Love love love Agnes!

Really dislike Clio and Blossom

I like Lavender it reminds me of the girl in Matilda. Not sure I would want to be called it though if you know what I mean
