Isabella? Honest thoughts please!

Hello!

Our current favourite girls name is Isabella. What do people think when they hear this name? Is it too common? Would you think, "oh here comes another Isabella"?

If you hate it or think it's far too common, what names would you suggest instead? We are rather stuck here...

Not my cup of tea, but nothing wrong with it. I quite like Izzy as a nn, but dont like Bella (know so may dogs called Bella, and also reminds me of the Tweenies - which is so irrelevant, I know! )

Gorgeous but very popular - there are a million Izzy/Issy/Bellas round here. Having said that, we gave dd a name (inc middle name) that must now be the most popular name in the UK and it's still lovely on her so I don't think you should let that put you off. A similar sort of name that I think is surprisingly underused is Natasha - I know 2 eighteen year olds called Natasha but no younger children.

I like it. It’s not uncommon in our area, but I wouldn’t say it’s really common. I’m just not keen on nickname ‘Izzie’ which would put me off.

I think it's an absolutely beautiful name. Can you do some research to see how many there are of a similar age in your area?

According to one baby names site (Bounty I think). It was number 9 in the charts last year, so there would probably be a few at school, it depends how much that bothers you.

I like it - there are lots but it doesn't matter.
It'd be on our list if it weren't for the fact I already used it on a pet.
