Auras are the bane of my (very epileptic) existence. I love Audra though. Orla is nice enough as long as you pronounce the R but some accents don't and it loses its similarity to the sound of Aura in that case.

Audra is great, I vote Audra. Aurore is pretty too but would be very difficult to pronounce for average UK people probably - I speak French and I've still had to repeat it a load of times here just to get the two Rs sounding anything close to right

You could use the French version of Aurora - Aurore.

That's Auror. They hunt the dark wizards geek I think Audra is a gorgeous name, or Aurora, but unless its a nickname, I'd avoid Aura for the aforementioned woo/migraine reasons...

I'd assume hippy parents who wanted to be creative and unique. (And I'm a migraine sufferer).
It just sounds like a random word someone has decided would be OK as a name.
Aurora would saddle you with a lifetime of pronunciation corrections and queries. English way or Italian?

I’d assume hippy parents. But wouldn’t be as narrowly provincial and judgemental as Chwara, who sounds like the kind of person I would ‘filter out.’

Aurora, Aurelia, Aurelie, Audrey, Aubrey, Oriane, Ornella.

No. It's the name of a migraine symptom. So many other names to choose which have no negative connotations.

I met a toddler Aura recently. I’d never heard it before.

Not sure about it as a stand-alone name but it could be a nickname for Aurelia (rather than Ray which is an awful shortening for such a pretty name).

My friends little newborn is called Aura. She is far from the judgemental description mentioned above. I think it's beautiful OP. I'd keep off this thread now and just call your baby whatever you want. My daughters name. Didn't her the best reaction on here. However we used it anyway and it gets compliments daily!!

If I met someone called aura I would roll my eyes and think the parents were a bit woo. Probably into reiki / homeopathy / amber teething shit etc. Maybe anti vaxxers. I live in Bristol though so I've become pretty adept at filtering out these types.

Orla is much nicer. I work with one, and everyone I hear or see the name I think how lovely it is. Classic and unusual at the same time.

Hadn't heard of the migraine thing, and Aurora sounds like it has one syllable too many!
Aura isn't too different to Orla? Laura sounds too 80s :(
