What do you think of when you hear the name Mila (mee-la)? Is it very overused/popular at the moment?

I like it.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 10/03/2019 12:38

I had a childhood friend who came from an Italian family. Her name was Carmella, but always shortened to Mila (Meela).

gingajewel · 10/03/2019 09:12

I love it! I was going to call dd2 mila and changed it in the last few weeks! I thinks it beautiful.

BlueMerchant · 09/03/2019 17:43

Mila is quite nice.

MissBPotter · 09/03/2019 17:39

I really dislike it. The way it is pronounced sounds horrible to me. Plus I had never heard of it before Kunis and now every other baby is being named Mila. So will definitely date.

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/03/2019 17:38

AnnaSparks I don’t think it will date.
My Grandmother was born in the mid-1930’s and she’s still bossing the name Grin

AnnaSparks · 09/03/2019 17:34

The fact it may date is something that’s bothering me. Although it has been relatively popular for the last 10 years. Just not sure if it’s going to be the next Tracey soon!

Trendy and will date.

Pemba · 09/03/2019 16:53

Pretty name.

DramaAlpaca · 09/03/2019 16:51

I don't like it either. It sounds weak & insubstantial to me. But at least it's not cutesy.

Aquilla · 09/03/2019 16:50

It's OK as long as you don't mind 50% of people mispronnouncing it!

cmjwx · 09/03/2019 16:49

I love this name and wanted it for my first DC.. but he's a boy! So that's out the window Smile

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 09/03/2019 16:49

I really, really dislike it. Reminds me of mealy mouth.

KindnessCrusader · 09/03/2019 16:14

I like it.

ReSistersUnited · 09/03/2019 16:14

Love it! Beautiful name.

Vestlandet · 09/03/2019 16:12

It’s ok. It seems a bit bland to me and very popular where I am.

CatSmize · 09/03/2019 14:20

I love it. In Spain it's short for the name Milagros which means Miracles.

Saffrona · 09/03/2019 13:36

It’s nice if short for something else like Amelia or Camila/Camilla or camellia .

The problem with Mila is that even though it’s in the top 100 the older generation are not familiar with it and will have pronounciation issues such as myla, Milla etc.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 09/03/2019 10:47

Mila pronounces meela is lovely!

sharpstick · 09/03/2019 10:45

I don’t like it. Don’t like the ‘meel’ sound. Dislike Amelia for the same reason.

Myla is ok though

pearldeodorant · 09/03/2019 10:43

Milia is the skin condition, not Mila

I like Mila but don't love it. However I do agree with you that the pronunciation thing is unlikely to be an issue

JenSFP · 09/03/2019 10:41

Is it pronounced meela or m-eye-la?

Bunnybigears · 09/03/2019 10:38

Isn't it a skin condition?

NuffSaidSam · 09/03/2019 10:36

I really like it.

Makes me think of Mila Kunis. I think that will help people pronounce it correctly as she's reasonably well known.

3boysandabump · 09/03/2019 10:28

In like it and when I read it in the title I pronounced it exactly as you intended
