Interested to know people’s opinions on this name for a boy....maybe it’s my hormones, but I woke up a week ago and it’s all I can think of!! 😂

Rudy Willy Shock

daisypond · 08/03/2019 10:25

I like Rudolph/Rudolf and Rudy is fine as a short form for those.

Bumblebeesmum · 08/03/2019 10:24

Isn’t a Rudy a fart ? So Rudy Willy as a name is probably a little much ???

I don’t really like Rudy as a name but it’s probably just not my taste - I don’t hate it.

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 08/03/2019 10:03

Beats the Rory Lyons ds went to school with!!

Rudy Willy Confused

Fifteenthnamechange · 08/03/2019 09:20

Love it

Believability · 08/03/2019 07:24

I really like it and it was going to be the name of our youngest but I couldn’t go through with it, it didn’t feel like a proper name even though it is. I’ve no issue with shortened names and I don’t buy that you need a long name for a birth certificate but somehow I just felt that it might lead to teasing.

fblake · 07/03/2019 23:24

I like Rudy 😊

WhereIsMyTVRemote · 07/03/2019 21:46

Love it and still wish I had used it.

123Flopsy · 07/03/2019 20:53

And Rudy Willy is even worse imo, sorry. Too much scope for teasing.

123Flopsy · 07/03/2019 20:51

Not only farts but anything that's rude can be called a 'Rude-y'!

123Flopsy · 07/03/2019 20:50

Better in middle Europe than UK

Especially as 'rude' is not a (negative) word in other languages!

weebarra · 07/03/2019 20:49

I know two, they are both lovely boys and I've never heard a fart called a Rudy.

123Flopsy · 07/03/2019 20:48

Rudolph is a name and it's fairly popular among 60 plus year old German men.

But Rudy, especially in English, sounds awful and way too much like Rude-y!

missbrightside09 · 07/03/2019 20:46

We have a Rudi...go for it, I think it's a fab name!

JellycatElfie · 07/03/2019 20:44

I know a Rudy, he’s a horrible child Blush sorry!

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 07/03/2019 20:44

I quite like it you know. Rudy was the name of a character on a TV series I used to watch so I've known the name for quite a few years.

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/03/2019 20:42

love

Cegbee · 07/03/2019 20:42

I love Rudy- popular in Iceland too!

scaevola · 07/03/2019 20:41

Rudy (as in the Specials) is Rude Boy, and it's not really a compliment. Use with care in big cities

If however you are a Hapsburg and he birth certificate will say Rudolf, that association may not matter. Better in middle Europe than UK

endofacentury · 07/03/2019 20:36

Love this name!!

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 07/03/2019 20:28

Hormonal op??

SydnayGreen · 07/03/2019 20:28

Not sure, but know what you mean about waking up with a name in your head. Mine was Jacob years back, and certainly didn't go with our surname!

Sessy19 · 07/03/2019 20:27

Aww, great responses. No proper reasons to not use it!! Ok, guess that’s one on our list...thanks all! 😊

I like it! Would have had it on our list but it doesn't go well with our surname.
